it has been genuinely devastating to see major governments, global news outlets and ignorant celebrities spreading a narrative that supports and upholds a regime responsible for the genocide of thousands of innocent lives. palestinians have been suffering for decades and nobody has cared; nobody has offered them the empathy that is now being so generously handed to a military force that is brutally murdering and displacing the palestinian people. 2.2 million people in gaza have had their electricity, food, water and fuel cut off. we are witnessing firsthand the utter annihilation of a population — dehumanising media coverage, blatant islamophobic propaganda, hundreds of children massacred — please understand that taking a "neutral" stance is siding with the oppressor. free palestine today, tomorrow, forever. from the river to the sea 🇵🇸

Guys, if you don’t have enough money to donate or are unable to use your money internationally (like me), you can simply go to arab.org and click daily for free. Each click will send money (Lebanese Pound 1 per click. This organization is based in Lebanon and works with the UN) through ad revenues to UNRWA in Gaza. Besides Palestine, you can also support other causes in the Arab world for women, children, refugees, the environment, etc. Therefore, make sure to go to this site on each of your devices and click everyday.
(EDIT) You can also use different kinds of browsers on your devices to give more daily clicks. I've tried this with Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on my PC. Now, I'm downloading Mozilla Firefox to click again.
(EDIT 2) Using the private mode of a browser after you use non-incognito browsing also allows you to click more in repetition. You don’t have to wait for a day to be over to click again.

i know not many people would want to read a 10,000 word article about the minecraft end poem and how the author, Julian Gough, was never fairly compensated for his work and has made it public domain.
But it's a very well-written and heartfelt read, and he makes it very clear that none of this is a cash-grab and despite the fact that he is essentially a starving artist in this capitalist society, he only mentions his financial struggles despite Minecraft's huge huge success at the bottom of this article and not in the tweets so as to not dilute his message.
Anyway, I just think it'd be cool if those who are able to could support him in some way whether it be subscribing to his substack or donating to his paypal (that's linked in the article, you can ctrl + F to find it easier), that's all.

Memories from last year

It's just my story as a refugee.. But there are many people are still in Ukraine, they still have to manage their life under shelling.
Even under those terrible conditions those amazing people still work to donate, work to rebuild the cities, work to save lives.
(I genuinely amazed by them - when I was there I could only hide under two blankets, hoping they won't hit house)
Anyways, support Ukraine, so their work wasn't in vain.

i know people like to dunk on it but personally i do i find that the whole “take a deep breath” thing can actually be very useful.
reconnecting with your body when you’re overwhelmed is very important (especially if you’re someone who has PTSD — from experience, it helps bring me back to the present.)
take deep breaths for one minute. tap on your leg for a bit and concentrate on the sensation. if you’re physically able to, get up and stretch. this isn’t me saying it’ll work wonders for everyone — but it has a lot of potential to be helpful, if it’s something you have the capacity to do

All of the internet should have the option to be in dark mode. Having a white background as the only option for a website is bad. Some people who have chronic migraines just straight up cannot use these websites without consequences, and it's something I've never seen anyone talk about as being an accesibility issue but it 100% is

You might find something like this on your property or along public forest trails. It’s about the same size and shape as a ketchup packet and smells like rotten fish. Believe it or not, this little packet protects you, your pets, and your family. The USDA drops these in areas (including Hamilton County) where raccoon-variant rabies has been known to occur. Raccoons find the packet and eat the contents, and it provides them with immunity to rabies. If you find one, simply leave it where it is, or, if it’s in an area accessible to a pet or child, just put on a pair of gloves and move it. Don’t worry, though— even if it was handled by a human or pet, it doesn’t pose any danger besides an unpleasant odor.

hmmm maybe i should talk about how some of you water down the concept of stalking and how it can leave long lasting psychological damage to people when they are stalked repeatedly, over long periods of time, by multiple people, etc etc

It’s been devastating, but I’ve been comparatively lucky; thank you for your condolences. And will do. I plan on making a post of my own at some point as I search for more relief effort fundraisers with the help of my mom. I’ll DM several I’ve already found.

Still kicking. I’ve never been more grateful to live on the outskirts of Mayfield. That being said, it got so close that my Amish neighbors are now orphaned.

Mayfield’s my hometown and it got flattened. I haven’t been active here, but it’d mean SO MUCH to donate. This is the worst thing we’ve seen since the ice storm in 2009.
western kentucky tornado relief
hi, it would mean a lot to me if yall shared this post. last night (12/10/21) a historically massive and destructive tornado tore through four different states. the hardest hit area was western kentucky. mayfield, a town about 20 minutes from my home town, was completely leveled. a candle factory there collapsed with 110 people inside, only 40 have been rescued and the last live recovery was from 4 am this morning. the death toll in kentucky is expected to be at least 100 people.

here are some places you can donate to relief efforts:
Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund
Western Kentucky Red Cross Disaster Relief
University of Kentucky College of Medicine Tornado Relief GoFundMe
Muslim Communities of Kentucky/Muslim Americans for Compassion GoFundMe
GoFundMe for Bremen, Kentucky, another small community destroyed
if you know anyone in the area, here is a google doc of community resources, hotlines, safe spaces, etc.
thank you so much, hope everyone is staying safe
