heartstopper is such a breath of fresh air, and not just for the obvious lgbt reasons, but for being a teen romance of any kind that generates high drama, shock reveals and cliffhangers out of normal everyday events that actually would and could happen in a uk school and just generally deals with teenage sexuality without sexualising the characters. like I know these are chiefly fledgling relationships so should netflix survive there might well be development in future seasons involving activity somewhere south of kissing but just honestly wow @ the detailed, thoughtful storytelling that series 1 manages without ever once even toying with the idea that any of these characters would, should or could be sleeping together at this stage in their relationships. beautifully delivered. 10/10 wonderful.

okay but if you look back at nick in the first episode it's so obvious he's trying to maintain a certain tough(ish) image - but then the more he interacts with charlie the more he visibly relaxes and the happier he looks

never mind the grumpy one / sunshine one dynamic, they're BOTH the sunshine one, nick just needed charlie to teach him that he could be
