Holy cow. What justified that kinda comeback? Can you be THAT sure that lazykidhideout was trying to give relevant advice. We cannot know for sure what lazykid actually meant and you go full insult? Not cool. The topic of trans is very, very complicated and requires a lot of education to entirely understand it, which most certainly is not the case for me. I can agree with the thesis that such people with lacking education within the subject matter should prolly not try to give proper advice if they lack information, but such comebacks are not just rude, but in my humble opinion furthermore counterproductive to your movement. Should I have missed anything in particular then please explain it to me so I can understand. Because right now, you reacted like a completely jerk, even if your anger caused by what is seemingly transphobia is more than understandable.

Thank you for the kind words. I have reread this post about 10 times today and each time I became more horrified and angry. I do not agree with many things Brendan has stated but that is not the issue here. Robert has deliberately and continuously mocked this guy even if he asked Robert openly and without any doubt to friggin stop. And yet he kept going, because he thought it was okay to annoy someone continuously since he misspelled words or wrote some things down THAT WEREN‘T EVEN THE SLIGHTEST BIT OFFENSIVE (albeit a bit stupid or just hurriedly written) --> “Fight Club 5/7″. Yeah it’s kind of a weird rating system. So what. Robert may feel that Brendan “deserves” such a treatment but he is outright fucking wrong. “Someone had to call you out on it” is a despicable way of justifying such deplorable ways of “teaching a lesson”. I am abhorred by this and it pisses me off that this post seems to go semiviral. Criticism does not seem to be an issue for lots of people. This sure messed up my day a little bit.

Im really sorry... while some of these truly were entertaining. It all borders on cyber bullying (at least, it seems so for me).

Just because someone is badly educated, it does not give you the right or justification to mock the respective person. I very much doubt that Brendan would be inclined to educate himself further on the issues after Robert has openly mocked him. Hell. The last line was basically telling Brendan that he is too friggin stupid to still be allowed in the gene pool.

That is going too far. Way too fucking far. Especially in a community that pertains to the idea that humor can hurt like hell and is a tricky subject, I would not have expected the support this post has gotten.

You fucking go! I love MTG like nothing else but the community can be really offputting.

When I showed the game to a friend of mine we also went into a cardshop. People came over without consent and started giving us really bad advice (they barely knew what they were talking about). Furthermore, they didnt leave. They kept hanging around and bothering us and eventually said sexist bullshit: “At least you’re not a girl. Therefore, you can actually learn to play well”.

Last fuckin straw. I told them to leave us alone and keep their comments to themselves. There can be real dickheads out there. Keep disproving them by kicking ass.

Just outta curiosity: What colors were/are you using? Which format were you playing? I love me some modern, but am thinking about getting into Commander.

Fun fact my boyfriend plays this game called Magic the gathering at this comic book store and I started going with him and we noticed that the other guys started saying really sexist and offensive things around me since I’m the only girl so he immediately took me home and taught me how to play so now I go there to play and beat all of them.
