Some musings on the topic of mr Richard Sterling and I'd pick for his deduction star if he ever gets one
Queen of Spades (1916)
A film adaptation of Pushkin's short story of the same name. A story about dangers of gambling (lol lmao) which in more recent versions, be it musical, play or movie, suffers from romance additions.
However, the original version tells of a young man, Hermann, who believes an anecdote about the youth of a countess and three winning cards would bring him fortune. Pushkin portrays the protagonist as a sociopathic individual who drags everyone around him into his delusional schemes. Obviously, it ends in a tragedy, loss of sanity and a broken heart of a young lady.
Ok honesty the story is short just read it or watch the movie and don't gamble, kittens
