saw a post that was like, we are overusing the word fascism and using it for pointless discourses so it's becoming clear that fascism is just an empty buzzword people use when they are DUMB and don't have anything meaningful to say, and i think this is a pretty unproductive and insincere way of getting at it. both the examples named made me think "well no, that's not fascist but i can see the angle they're approaching from, or i can see how the thing in question could start to verge into fascistic type stuff if you take it in a certain direction or if applied in a certain context" and i think recognizing that, and issuing a counterargument on the grounds your opponent is talking in, is way more useful than "wow it's so dumb to call something fascist when you can plainly see that said thing is Normal and Default, clearly these people are not having any actual thought processes"

today while reshelving at the library i saw a kids' graphic novel inspired by kamen rider. i didn't get a chance to read it and idk if i'm that interested in going back for it because american takes on the toku genre often make me cringe a little for baseless hater reasons but i think it's cool that that's out there. shoutout to the kamen rider fans of the world

the thing is i would like if my uterus disappeared but i don't have any actual health problems with it and i can manage my period fine with an iud so wanting it gone is mostly for like symbolic reasons of "i don't need/want my body to be capable of this" which is not really a justification for a big expensive surgery with recovery time

the "trans inclusive radical misogynist" joke is unfunny for myriad reasons but chief among them is, like, for the logic of the joke to work it implicitly requires the belief that transmisogyny is not misogyny and that the default approach towards trans women is not already to impose violent and dehumanizing levels of misogyny on them
