“We chose the term “asexual” to describe ourselves because both “celibate” and “anti-sexual” have connotations we wished to avoid: the first implies that one has sacrificed sexuality for some higher good, the second that sexuality is degrading or somehow inherently bad. “Asexual”, as we use it, does not mean “without sex” but “relating sexually to no one”. This does not, of course, exclude masturbation but implies that if one has sexual feelings they do not require another person for their expression. Asexuality is, simply, self-contained sexuality.”
The Asexual Manifesto, Lisa Orlando and Barbara Getz, 1972

what can we even do now? i mean this seriously, i've been donating every month, i've boosted, i've tried to share the truth, but it just doesn't stop. what can we do? this is madness it's always been madness, it's inhumane, it's demonic. how can we save them?
you keep doing it. i know it's tough because what you're doing is long-term work in a short-term emergency. but it matters regardless. now is not the time to stop anything, it's the time to do as much as you can. i shared this screenshot before, but here it is again:
from the new yorker interview with james elder UNICEF chief. key part of this sentence: there is big international pressure and israel loosens controls
there has to be big international pressure. you are part of this. israel has spent 75 years becoming as resilient as possible to big international pressure. it takes an international outcry to let in a paltry can of baby formula. but without you doing what you've been doing, there won't be the pressure even for that. and i know you feel like you've been as present as possible, but actually i have noticed many people clocking out of thinking about palestine. i used to get 30, 40, 50k notes on posts about palestine. now i get around ten times less even though arguably far less people defend what israel is doing. that's less pressure on israel, and this is easy goals. bring those people back. keep palestine the topic of conversation.
so anything you do now to increase pressure is the most important thing you'll do today. and for everyone else reading this, don't forget to donate to the sameer project.

Can I just say, uh, I’m pretty sure noticing you’re asexual is harder than noticing you’re gay, straight, pan or otherwise. Like, I just read someone’s desciption of hitting puberty and, like, there’s nothing like that. There’s no sudden ‘boob’ moment, no sudden ‘fuck, I’d fuck that’ moment, not sudden anything. You just, like, plod on through life as usual going ‘oooh, that’s pretty, I’d like that hair’ or ‘oooooh, they’re nice, I’d like to be close to them’ but there’s no like, ‘oh, someone would want to fuck that but I don’t’, you know? You just- you don’t notice, you don’t realise everyone else has ‘had a moment’ but you haven’t, you just- keep going as you always have.
And then, much much later, you start to wonder why people are getting so caught up in drama for romance or sex, like, why bother? It’s not worth it, they’re not worth it, why are you doing stupid things for something that’s so- and then you wonder if there’s something wrong with you, start mentally over compensating. Like ‘uh, okay, um, who should I date? Who can I stand to date? Who could I stand to fuck?’ like- it’s not, it’s not something you want, but you want to fit in, to be normal.
Sometimes you don’t even know that you’re doing it.
Sometimes you don’t even know asexual’s a thing.
I dunno, I guess, I just feel like, uh, people should understand more?
idk sorry thank you for listening to me

A small comic about Palestine I created even though I barely know how to design but I did my best to express something that might reach more hesitant or disengaged family and friends.
In any case, if you have the financial means, I encourage you to donate to Nasser Arahim, a 10-year-old Palestinian child who reached out to me. I promised him I’d highlight his story through this comic.
And if you can’t donate, there’s always a need for eSIMs to help keep people in Gaza connected to the world.

Found this Flickr from 2006 for this goth model/photographer girl who had a project where she went around Japan to random people’s houses and posed besides them while they ignored her and read books or played with model kits. Truly ahead of her time.

Please, help Musab and his family from Gaza 🍉🍉
Mike Huckabee told Ireland to "sober up" over the Occupied Territories Bill, an Irish law preventing trade with the Occupied Territories, preventing trade with stolen Palestinian land and settlers.
Alan Shatter (a member of the Irish government) tried to claim it was anti semitic, and compared it to laws passed in 1930s - 40s Germany. This bill could hurt Israel's economy, and more importantly call for other western governments to also sanction Isreal.
However, there needs to be services included in the bill, not just goods. If the bill only sanctions Israeli goods, than its more or less just a symbolic gesture, and the people of Palestine need more than just symbolic gestures. They need actions.
People are being so scared of being yelled at, or labelled as this or that for speaking up for Palestine. For some people, the worst plausible thing is your family being killed, for others, the worst plausible thing is being slightly reprimanded.
The lack of action from Governments and the international community is appalling. And allowed the brutal genocide against the Palestinian people to continue for far, far too long. And so, it has come to us civillians to act and help the people from Gaza.
It is the responsibility of us who are privledged to help Gaza, and do what we can. The people of Gaza don't even have the privledge of knowing they will be alive tomorrow.
No food, no medicine, Musab's heart breaks for his daughters, and the fact that he cannot provide them with the world, or even their basic needs as any parent would want.
Not even saftey or a stable shelter or home environment. Please, imagine being injured yourself and being unable to feed your own children. All of this, under the threat of Israeli bombardment.
Only 38% of the VERY ACHIEVABLE 18k goal raised.
Last donation was 20 hours ago as I write this, please follow @musab-writes to support him.
"Please donate now to save my daughters from starvation and the brutal war. Any donation can save their lives right now."

Please help Rania buy food for her children 🍉
650 Palestinians were killed and 2,200 people were injured in Gaza from July 9th to 16th.
Israel targeted and killed 7 children and 4 adults waiting for water in a drone strike while crowds of people attempted to retrieve clean water from a water truck on July 13th. Water shortages are becoming worse. Fuel shortages are heavily affecting desalination sanitation facilities. People are now dependant on collection centres. That massacre was just one of several in a 24 hour period on July 12th and 13th. The Health Ministry in Gaza reported that 139 bodies have been brought to hospitals within that 24 hour period.
Atleast 134,000 Palestinians (more than 40,000 children) have new war-related injuries. 25% are estimated to have new disabilities requiring acute and ongoing rehabilitation. Over 35,000 people are believed to have significant hearing damage due to explosions - an average 10 children per day lose or both of their legs. Gaza has the largest amount of child amputees per capita in the world.
(Source: The Electronic Intifada)
These numbers are harrowing, but we need to remember that numbers dehumanise. These are individual human beings, with lives, stories and wishes, people who want to live.
People want to eat, the people of Gaza are exhausted. Could you imagine going days and days without food? And the only food you get is flour, maybe pasta... no fruits, no vegetables, no meat, no sugar...
This malnutrition has irreversible effects on small children, UNRWA even stated that 1 out of 10 children they see at their clinics are malnourished.
Rania ( @raniagaza ) is 30 years old, she has two children and is married. Her parents are elderly, she has lost everything and been displaced multiple times. No home, no shelter, no saftey, nothing.
Could you imagine watching your family suffering so horrifically? Could you imagine being unable to do anything? Could you imagine food running out day after day, and you have nothing to give your children?
Only 7% of the goal has been raised. Donations are extremely slow for Rania and her family, contributing to their hunger and suffering.

Seriously, this is not enough to sustain Rania and her family - seriously - what will you lose of you give some money, or post for a starving family from Gaza? While they could lose their lives and are constantly under Israeli bombardment.
She has been vetted, you can see information here and here.
