The Sims 4 Dark Mode 🌃 - Chalk'd v1 [WIP]

Hey all 👋 happy to share this TS4's UI overhaul project that I've been working on for the past month or so, just in time before the end of the year! I'd also like to thank you for following along the WIP posts of this project 😊

This mod is still in progress as not all UI elements have been recolored, but you'll find the majority of them do. Enjoy! :]

Features

General Info

Most of the important UIs have been recolored, with some texts still blue.

Dialog pop-up windows are still unedited (ones that asks you to input either texts/numbers/ask you for choices).

To install:

Main mod: download and extract the folder within .zip into your Mods folder. Clear any cache files and follow the instructions under Known Conflicts if any is applicable.

Loading screen: download only one loading screen file found in the SFS folder.

Opening screen: file to replace the intro TS4 screen. Choose the file that pertains to your game language.

Mod Compatibility Tracker

Package files with the 00_ prefix are ones that overrides the same resources as other mods. You can read more below to check which mods are compatible/conflicting and what to do with those conflicting files.

Fully compatible w/ UI Cheats Extension v1.39. To avoid any issues, keep the original mod in your mods folder (both .package and .ts4script).

Must remove other custom wrench mods if you wish to keep the dark mode on as the conflicting texture holds other UI elements as well.

No Map Lot Outlines by MizoreYukii - keep/remove mine

Remove 00_World Select - Header text.package if you wish to keep the NoMapLotOutlines mod. Will revert the world header info font color back to blue.

Smarter Pie Menu by TMEX - choose between versions

Pie Menu v1: conflicts with Smarter Pie Menu. Dark BG version. Pie Menu v2 - SPM_Compatible : compatible with TMEX's mod. Light BG ver. Both pie menu packages are compatible with mods that only rearrange the pie menu.

Phone icons - keep/remove mine

Remove 00_Phone icons.package if you wish to use other phone icon overrides. Mods that only rearrange the phone menu are compatible.

Fableman Farm: An 1890s Decades Starter

Built circa 1880, this family farmhouse is ready to welcome its next owner. It’s complete with everything a young Victorian family may need, from a cozy parlor, to a fully functioning kitchen, a state of the art outhouse, and even two bedrooms upstairs.

The lot is originally built in Brindleton Bay, but it will also work in Willow Creek, Moonwood Mill, Copperdale, Henford-on-Bagley, Windenburg, and even Strangerville. It is also intended to function well in a decades challenge, so it is completely off the grid and decorated in an 1890s style. I have also included a cross stitch basket, chicken coop, farming plots, books, and even seeds to get your decades sims started.

As usual, it is CC free so that everyone can download it, but please feel free to redecorate it or redesign it, just tag me if you do use it so I can see your lovely pixels enjoying it too!

The Victorian Laborer Set

This set include smocks in the adult and the child version, and wooden clogs.  

The smocks could work from 1850s to 1910s and the wooden clogs were mostly worn from the 16th century to the 1950s in Europe.

Puff Sleeves

This is a set of accessories to change the shape of the sleeves of tops and outfits into more voluminous ones : especially useful for 1890s, 1900s, 40s and 80s look. But unfortunately these are NOT compatible with all tops and outfits so I’ve put lists of compatible maxis items as well examples of compatible cc at the bottom of this post.

Clara Dress

Recolors of @zurkdesign​ ‘s Sunday Dress in 18 shades from @sims4americangirlchallenge​ ‘s Dear America Palette.

Formal dresses in a selection of jewel tones and some neutrals (swatches below cut!), for your little Victorian and Edwardian girls. Named after my baby girl Clara Lombardo from my Decades Challenge (the girl in purple).

I needed this dress in more colors! I attempted to do multicolor accents, but alas, I’m not yet quite skilled or patient enough to separate the mesh into layers and color each layer separately.

👻The Dark Shadows 1897 Collection - a Simblreen Set by cmoonsims 👻

For the past year I've been working on various projects off and on, so I decided to go and polish up a few pieces that were semi-connected (all being based on characters from the 1897 arc of Dark Shadows) and release them together for Simblreen.

These were all mesh edits, conversions, and frankenmeshes meant for my own gameplay, so they may not be perfect. If anyone runs into any problems with any of these please tell me and I'll look into fixing it. If you're the original creator of any of these and you aren't comfortable with me releasing edited versions of your content, PLEASE let me know! I think it's alright with all the TOUs I checked, but if I'm wrong just ask. All should be BGC.

(also, special shoutout to @emcadsdoessims for their AMAZING Collinwood recreation, which I used as a backdrop for the previews and has enough details to make my head spin 😵‍💫)

Items in the set include:

🎃 Quentin Hair - edit of the @okruee Jonas Hair to have less flyaways and more overall smoothness.

🎃 Beth Hair and Cap - @birksche 's Playful Hair but with bangs removed. @historicalsimslife 's maid cap edited to (sort of) sit on the hairstyle.

🎃 Rachel Dress - combined @simsfromthepast Edwardian Skirt, @javitrulovesims Summers in Henford dress, and @twentiethcenturysims Blanche Dress to get this! Comes in a more show-accurate combination, solids from the Scientist Palette, and a few bonuses. (additional thanks to @chere-indolante for doing some fixes on it.)

🎃 Jamison Suit - conversion of @twentiethcenturysims Floyd Suit for children. Tie recolor not included but will work with conversion when enabled for children in Sims 4 Studio.

🎃 Nora Dress - mesh edit of two @historicalfictionsims dresses - mostly Molly's Christmas Dress with longer sleeves from the Triffie Dress. Comes in the Equinox Palette.

Hi guys! finally after a long break we meet again haha Well… this whole situation with new GP has left its imprints over the past month and everything will definitely never be the same again! but! here it is! this building has changed many times and it can no longer be compared with the original idea, but I even like it more!

This building comes with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room.

Hi everyone!

My 10 year old niece is passionate like me about the sims 4 and wanted to start a historical save file too but she hates cc’s to death so she asked me if I could kindly create families for her vanilla save. So I created 18 sims in the early 1900s. I tried to be as close to the style as possible and I used almost all the dlcs that are in the sims 4.

Below I present the families:

Be free and creative! Use them as npc or as households. Change appearance or use cc if you prefer. I hope to see these sims in your gameplay. ps: you have to check “include custom content” because unfortunately even if in cas they are totally vanilla, in game I had some mods that were activated and unfortunately the game detected them as parts of cas included)

It’s finally here! The first of (I hope) several packs of antennae for your extraterrestrial sims! Just in time for Halloween! (This is technically my treat for you all ♥)

They’re available on 5 different slots, and you can have any combination of them in your game. The slots are:

Hat

Right Brow Ring

Brow Scar (Occult Brow)

Forehead Crease

Acne

I believe for the Acne slot you will need Parenthood, and for Brow Scar you might need either Vampires or Get Famous, but the rest should all be BGC. 

Every single one has a custom thumbnail so they’ll (hopefully) be easy to find, and they should all more or less appear right in a row. 

They all pick up the sim’s skin tone, so they should work with any color alien you want to make! They will also pick up patterns to some extent, but they aren’t all mapped in the exact correct spot, so it won’t be seamless (mapping them all accurately made them incompatible with Most hairs). They are all set up to pick up patterns from the correct side of the head, only one pair is shown below because that’s the only one that was in the right area to demonstrate.

The longer ones (Spring Droop and Irked XL) WILL clip through the body sometimes, this is just how it has to be. (A better preview of Irked XL is below the cut)

The Droom preview, as you can see, one antenny is darker than the other. This is just because of where the shadows are on this particular hair. I could’ve edited it out, but I think it’s better to show you the reality of the cc! Some hairs do some slightly odd stuff to these guys, I hope that’s okay with you! 

The Dragon tends to pick up eyebrow colors, but honestly, it isn’t a big deal imo

No LODs but I didn’t notice any issues with the graphics turned down as low as possible, so you (hopefully) shouldn’t even be able to tell

Basically, you can do whatever you want with these as long as they remain 100% FREE. Mesh edit them, change the slots, convert them to other games, go wild :) (and credit me)
