We released ‘Face Melt’, our first track as Plurthlings back in 2017. We didn’t know any singers, so we recorded our own vocals. We didn’t have great drum samples yet, so we recorded ourselves playing the drums instead. Even though we’re a music producer duo, we think of Plurthlings like a band. But we disagreed with the direction of the record label that released it, so we permanently pulled this track down and split ways. Later that year, we started releasing music on our own record label: PlurthONEarth Media (POEM). But we always felt weird about this song; thus, it collected dust on our hard drive, even though it was always an early fan favorite, racking up 20k+ streams in the first couple months. But no one has been able to listen to it since 2018 when we finally got them to take it down. Fast forward to 2022, and we have a new song release scheduled for every single Friday this year, starting back 6 weeks ago now. When we looked ahead at the schedule, we saw that Earth Day, which we call ‘PLURTH Day’, was on an upcoming Friday! We thought it felt like the right time to re-master, and re-produce our first release, ‘Face Melt’, now that we have many years of experience. How would it sound if we made it now? Not to mention that being PLUR to the planet and the sustainability of the Earth is the foundation for our project in the first place. So this one’s for the fans and the friends we’ve made along the way! Well, it’s finally April 22, and ‘Face Melt’ is out now on all platforms! Plus, we have 5 other new tracks to listen to as well. Next week, it’s Monsoon’s birthday weekend, so we thought it would be fun to return to our roots and make a song with our vocals again. Stay tuned!
