OOC POST 

I wanted to make a drawing celebrating Kimiko winning Cutest Cure. So here it is! She is my shy little baby. Maiko from Phantasma is presenting the award, and she belongs to NerdyEspurr. I thought a white dress with rainbow color accent would fit the decora vibe and her gloves being mixmatch with her signature colors i thought would be a nice touch. Once again thank you everyone who voted for Kimiko/Cure Patches to win

OMG GUYS THANK YOU! I honestly didn’t think i would win and i was so happy just to have been nominated! Cure Patches is very dear to my heart and i am so thankful and graceful for everyone who nominated for her and voted for her! This has really motivated me to get my butt back into gear and i will be doing a special drawing of Kimiko accepting the award! 

A small, young-looking girl with a massive ponytail, wearing a colorful dress and all sorts of cute accessories, happily skipped onto the stage and towards the microphone. Except she wasn’t skipping, she was floating! She cleared her throat and looked out at the massive crowd, a massive smile plastered on her face. If you looked closely, you would see that A: She had adorable little stickers on her face and B: She looked almost see-through, like colored glass.

“Hi hi!” she greeted. Her excitement was downright infectious. “My name is Maiko Ametsuchi from Phantasma and I’m here to present the Cutest Cure award for the 2019 Fancuries!” She did a cute little spin, her body shimmering slightly like she was covered in glitter.

“I don’t wanna overstay my welcome or nothin’, so let’s just jump into the nominees!” She began to read the paper she was holding, squinting slightly. “The nominees are… Cure Popstar from Game On! Precure, Cure Gale from Prime Pretty Cure, Cure Spring from Memoria Pretty Cure, Cure Sweet from Friendly Pretty Cure, Cure Sleepy from Dreamland Precure, and Cure Patches from Plushie Cuddles Pretty Cure. Wow, those names alone are pretty darn cute!”

“And the winner for Cutest Cure is…” She did a little drum roll on her legs, drawing out the announcement slightly. “Cure Patches, from Plushie Cuddles Pretty Cure!!! Congrats!” Maiko clapped, dropping the paper as she did so. She then walked off the stage, not noticing the paper. A girl with long strawberry-blond hair, wearing a long white dress, quickly picked it up before the next presenter.

Turns out i forgot to reblog Kimiko/Cure Patches’ Spotlight post. Normally you wouldn’t see the two forms together but i felt like it was important to reflect the cuteness in both forms

Nominee Spotlight: Cure Patches

Cure Patches from Plushie Cuddles Pretty Cure is nominated for Cutest Cure at the 2019 Fancuries. Here’s what the creator, TheBunnyPrincess, has to say:

I don’t know what to say about Kimiko. When I was making her, I wanted a head-nod to the magical girl past of magical idols. But I think where she shines is her personality and backstory. She is dual-natured, being both childish and mature, cheerful and sad. Helping her father by taking of the household, Kimiko does her best to act and be older than she is. From cleaning, cooking, and taking care of her younger sister. The most childish thing about her in human form is her treatment of her stuffed animal, Sir Piggy. He is her only friend at the start of the story, and the only thing she can open up too. In Cure form, although she is the leader of the team, she plays with toys, gets distracted easily, is very clingy, and is the little sister of the group. Both of these sides of Kimiko are real sides of her and are important to her story, and I do my best to show that in both forms. I wanted her in Cure form to come off as childish and cheerful, while in human form her colors are duller since she more herself when she’s in Cure form. But, you can still find dull colors in her Cure form while you can also see bright colors in her human form. For me at least the “cute” part of this character is more her personality than anything else that I try to reflect in her design.

Kimiko Joue (Cure Patches) Yuna Ike (Cure Stitches) Hibiki Yoshi (Cure Buttons) Anka Emem (Cure Embroidery) Mami (Cure Mami)

Mami is a fairy from Toyland. She was the princess’ future knight, but when the kingdom was under attack she was sent off to find a group of heroes to help restore Toyland. She was chased by a group of Negatons and the head baddies. She tore her arm off while running away and passed out in a playground were Kimiko found her. She was out cold when Kimiko restuffed her and patched her arm over after being unable to find the missing limb.

Mami is prone to nightmares but snuggles and cuddles do help a bit. She is adapted at magic and a very sweet fairy. She treats Yuna and Kimiko like her little sisters due to how much they remind her of her own younger sister back in toyland. She also really connects with Kimiko due to also haven raised her younger sister so she does her best to make Kimiko’s life easier and make her smile whenever she can.

Mami unlocks the ability to turn into a Precure when a villain who turns out to be the corrupted version her little sister attacks the team and nearly defeats them. Mami wanted to protect her new friends and return the favor to Kimiko who protected her and that desire was able to make her transform. Unlock the others her transformation item comes out of her heart and mimics her fairy form. When she detransformed she went into a human form. But if she gets to tried or too weak she returns to fairy form.

Her precure and human form is 16 years old.

Kimiko Joue (Cure Patches) Yuna Ike (Cure Stitches) Hibiki Yoshi (Cure Buttons) Anka Emem (Cure Embroidery) Mami (Cure Mami)

Yuna is the 2nd precure. At first none of the other Cures know who the other is. She is a 14 year old autistic girl who ends up best friends with Cure Patches / Kimiko.

Yuna stopped going to school because of being heavily bullied for her special interests (magical girls, stuffed animals, and sweets). She dropped out after they had tried to take Mally, her comfort item, a stuffed Mallard duck she carries every where  with her. She is a single child of a busy but rich family meaning she is often by herself. Yuna would spend most her time in the library reading manga about magical girls, books about food, and stuffed animals. 

Kimiko’s little sister loses her stuffed animal and Kimiko is trying to find it for her sister by putting up lost posters.

She ended up becoming a magical girl on her own after the Bad guy took her duck and turned it into a Negaton, so she started to beat the bad guy up (in human form). The bad guy then turns Kimiko’s little sister’s stuffed animal into a Negaton but Mally detransformed. However with the leftover energy Yuna transformed into Cure Stitches. And defeated the bad guy and the negaton. She took it upon herself to stitch the now damaged toy back up when she detransformed back into her human form. 

After Yuna fixed the stuffed animal and mets up with Kimiko to give her the stuffed animal but the two quickly become BFFs due to their common interest (Magical girls and Stuffed animals mainly) but neither tells the other about being a magical girl until the others reveal who they are.

Yuna stims includes flapping her arms in long sleeves when happy, flapping her wings in Cure form when happy, making little quack noises in cure form,  and chewing things (In human form). She is hyposenstive meaning she needs more sensory input then others. She also has a hard time telling when she is physically hurt because of this.
