After having for so long dreamt of it, I finally treated myself to a bunch of new stamps from @cooksongold last week and I couldn't contain my excitement when they arrived! I've had these cuffs envisioned in my mind for months and finally being able to bring em to life feels just right! The stamped design is meant to remind of stylized lavender flowers, that resonate with the lavender coloured stones, that are the focal points of the cuffs. • Cicada wings necklace • This piece is for all intents a tale told in silver. A little fragment of my childhood heart firmly impressed in metal. Not being inspired by an exact moment in time, but by an extended achronological emotion, this five stone Cicada wings necklace embodies the spirit of summer itself. It is the portrait of all the summer evenings spent by the joyful, monotonous creaking of cicadas under olive trees. It is soaked in Mediterranean scents and silence. A butterflies' garden collection, growing piece by piece, wing by wing 🦋 As promised, here's the front of the statement cuff I showed you in yesterday's post, with the addition of a five stone statement ring on a 1.5 mm thick double layered silver backplate and a comfortable triple shank band. The cuff is 5" long with a 1 1/4" gap and is slightly adjustable. It should be a size S-M but please measure your wrist to be sure. The ring comfortably fits a size 6.75 / 7 US. For the butterflies' garden collection I've chosen a selection of vibrant lavender turquoises to pair with the delicacy of the winged critters. This stone, mined in the desert of Gobi, is particularly collectible and appreciated for its unusual periwinkle hue. I've been much driven to work with such material, for its colour has calming and uplifting effects of mind and body, empowering feelings of spirituality and imagination to elevate the highest self. These light purple hues are especially connected to femininity and delicacy, that marry with the symbolic value attributed to butterflies. My intention is to create wearable amulets of natural beauty to accompany the wearer during the various metamorphosis of life, acting as a guiding light towards a more conscious and spiritual fulfillment of oneself. 9 necklaces, amongst with 6 rings, 4 pair of earrings and one or two cuffs will be available on August 1st at noon PST. I must admit that there is nothing like a summer evening. Especially in these days, without time for breaks, arriving in the evening and lying down on the terrace at dusk is the greatest joy. With the sun going down and the breeze cooling off, the feeling of the warm floor under your body, that same floor that burns you during the day, is pleasant. I won't lie, it's not an easy time for us. We are exhausted to say the least, and when the body begins to fail, anxiety and discouragement start taking over. I know it, and I fight it rationally, but more often than not, reasoning is not enough. What really calms me down are the brief moments of joy. Like these summer evenings. Being able to step outside of your body for a second and watching the things that make you worried from a distance. You're not defined by your "to dos" neither by the things you didn't erase from that list. Your true self is a higher one. Is as light as a balloon, as grounded as the roots of an old tree. The moment you realise this, you need no judgement anymore. Only love is welcome in your personal sphere. New beginnings. When no idea has become exhausted yet, no expectation disappointed. A new beginning is a white wall that you can imagine filling in any way you want, as many times you want. I love new beginnings. They remind me why we live. For that thrill, for that still childlike ability to get excited for the future. I still don't want to share any photos of the new studio because we are still working on finalizing it, and so I'm leaving you with a bit of suspense for now 🤗! After almost 4 days of cleaning, filling the cracks in the wall and refurbishing old furniture, though, the studio is starting to *feel* real. We will officially move in early July, and I look forward to inaugurate this room by creating something with these two hands, in there. A new beginning.
