"Always remember, there is no strength without unity." Poamal. That's my name. It means palace in an ancient, forgotten language. Palace of what? I'll give you three guesses, then I'll show you. [Index • ask • Submit • Archive]

CASTLE AT THE RIVERSIDE
Medieval castle with adjacent city for a story I’m currently working on. There are quite a lot of little details, click at the close-ups to have a better look!
Worked on this picture on and off for nearly half a year, so glad it’s finally done! (technically it had been done for almost a month already, just didn’t upload it until now)

Poamal followed Talia quickly and quietly into her shop. It was lovely and homey, with the right amount of personal decor as to not seem like a doctor's office. "I'm really sorry about this short notice. There are things that prevent me from seeking aid elsewhere." He did not mention how his arm would eventually fix itself or how he only came to reassure the driver that he jumped in front of.
He sat down on the examination chair when instructed, suspiciously calm for someone who was holding a broken arm to their chest. "It's mutual! I just wish it were on happier, less extreme terms." He laughed, but broke off into a slight wince since soon after because the movement jostled his arm.
"Cutting my shirt would be the least devastating thing to happen all day, I swear," Poamal replied, lifting his good arm so she could begin cutting down from the sleeve. He didn't have another, but his apartment wasn't too far off. He just hoped there wasn't a law against walking around without a shirt.
"On another note, your little set-up here is nice." He was horrible at small talk, but past experience proved that it was better than focusing on the huge fucking gap in his humerus.

Talia was working at her desk in her shop when she heard the door open. With a quiet sigh, she stood, the chair pushing back with a slight squeak as she headed down the short hallway and into the front room, standing in the door way.” Yes, what can I do for-” her eyes narrowed slightly as they looked the stranger over.
The way he held himself, his left arm hung a certain way suggested some sort of breakage, even through his shirt, her golden eyes zoned in on his shoulder, the bone slightly jutting up against the skin. “Come with me.” she said finally, turning on her heel to lead the way into the next room where a cot was. “Have a seat and I’ll be right back.” She said, after he had entered.
Leaving the room, Talia went to wash her hands and bring her medical bag back with her when she returned. And when she did return, she smiled at the man. “I’d say its nice to meet you, though for you it probably isn’t a mutual feeling under these circumstances.” Pulling up a chair ,she sat before him.
“Now, we’re going to have to remove your shirt. I’m going to have to cut it off for the least amount of pain, alright?” she asked, already leaning down to pull a pair of scissors from her bag on the floor at her side.

I feel you. Honestly, I do. If you need to talk, I got you. You'se me fabulous homie. <3333 I love you. ;v;
Thanks, hun. I really appreciate that, and it makes me feel a little better I love rping with you, too. I just feel like there are so many people out there that I love rping with, but they always shun me, and act like they don’t want to rp. I just wish they’d tell me outright that they don’t want to interact. At least then I’d know.

Back In My Day... | Closed RP
Comparing the latter half of the 14th Century to the twenty-first should be illegal. In fact, Poamal should probably be shot just for entertaining the mere idea. But he just can't help it when he looks up at the cityscape and watches the people he passes. Everyone is so carefree and wild. It really gets him thinking.
America was a particularly new destination for him, but his immigration from one country to the next was hardly unprecedented. He'd been to England four times in the last decade, Italy twice, and several tiny islands off the coast of Africa that were quite indigenous. The past couple hundred years had been a vacation, and the world his destination. And now, America was really the only place he had left to see.
It was amazing. Tall, tall buildings with such a unique people. Assholes, but unique. So diverse and hauntingly beautiful. There was one drawback, and that was their ignorance. He could see it as clear as day when they passed him in the street; no one was prepared for anything. In Poamal's experience... Well, that was the biggest mistake you could make.
As he stepped off the curb, Poamal felt a sudden sense of dread settle in his heart. It was indescribable in any other way besides dread. It was an enormous weight, making his steady pace stop so he could immediately survey his surroundings. And, believe it or not, it wasn't he that was in danger, but the woman in front of him. On her cellular dabbing away at the keys, barely giving the world around her a second glance.
There was a car barreling towards her, and Poamal barely got a thought in before he was sprinting towards her to shove her out of the way. She looked like she went sprawling, but that was little compared to his experience. The grill caught him on his left side, effectively shattering the bone of his left arm and possibly some ribs before it came to a complete stop.
The driver of the vehicle looked stunned; eyes impossibly wide like his brain wouldn't register that he just hit a pedestrian from the side. But there was also realization. A quick glance in between Poamal and the woman, and he knew what would have transpired had Poamal not intervened.
After living through many large, unwelcome wars, this pain was familiar to him. It flashed behind his eyes, but that didn't matter as long as the woman was okay. He cradled his arm and looked in the direction which he pushed her. "Sorry--I think I might have pushed you a little too hard."
His apology was genuine. And as he stood up, he winced, but held out his good hand to assist her to her feet. She too was stunned into silence, but her hand was shaking when she gripped his firmly and shook it.
Poamal left with a reassurance to both the driver and the lucky woman that he wouldn't press charges, and would pursue immediate medical attention. Now, to him... That certainly didn't mean a hospital. There was always the chance of people finding out about him and his abilities. He didn't need that. So instead of following the blue signs towards emergency medical center, he shuffled towards a local place instead and pulled open the door with his good hand.

The man sort of shook his wrist, gesticulating that it could have been worse. It was his fault anyway. "Pfft, no, it's fine. It's cool. I'm uh...I'm Poamal, but you can call me something else if that's too hard to remember."
poamal caught your attention
“I’m pretty good. Sorry I scared you. What’s your name?” Star asked.

Poamal nearly dropped his things, but there was something welcoming about the smile that slowly drifted onto his face. He waved. "Hey, how are ya?"
poamal caught your attention
“Oh, hello there!” Star called.
