“Because..” Because he didn’t love her. Because all his time with his wife didn’t even close to comparing to one night with Bella. Not just the sex, although that alone was burned into his mind even in the drunken state he had been in, but it had been intimate. Like everything that had ever been held back came tumbling out between the two of them, expressed with every touch, every kiss. It was as intoxicating as the alcohol always running through his system. He wished it hadn’t felt as good as it did, because then it would’ve been easier for him to set the boundaries once again. He wouldn’t feel the need to lie to his best friend. He wouldn’t feel the guilt eating away at him now, especially when hearing that she had called him after the test. He really should have answered. Instead? He had been drinking and pretending to do business with others at all hours so he didn’t have to face Alexis either.
There was no more doubt on whether the life growing inside of her was his as well. The pounding in his chest as reached his ears. Entirely unsure of what to do about it. When you looked at his track record for handling things, it only showed how poorly he did. He stepped up when it came to others, especially his family, but he alone was on a downward spiral. “I fucked up.” He stated the obvious once again. “You didn’t have to lie for me.” Although he was grateful that she had, even if it wasn’t for his sake. It felt like it might only be prolonging the inevitable punch to the face he’d receive but now more than ever he knew that information should come from him. Slowly he closed the space between them as much as he could. “I’m not going to make you do this alone either.” No matter how poorly he handled things, he at least had the common sense throughout the shock to know that, that should be said. “Hey.” His hands came up, resting on each side of her face as he had her look at him. “I’ll be here.” He couldn’t promise there wouldn’t be bumps in the road, it was him after-all, but he’d just have to try his best to not be a complete fuck up.
Bella did her best not to think about the night between them, the emotions, and the unspoken words that course through them through the various actions that night. Her body instantly responding to the memories, making her clear her throat and turn her head to look somewhere other than him. She didn’t plan on forcing him into something he probably didn’t want, which was why she was ready to tell him she could handle this on her own, that he didn’t have to lift a single finger for her or their daughter. She glided her tongue along her lower lip. Of course, she didn’t need to lie for him and the only reason she did was that she would always put him first. No matter how much she hurt. He mattered way more than she ever would. It was hard to imagine what would have happened that night she had called him, the night where she held the stick between her fingers and let the fear fill her, the stories of what potentially happened running through her mind because the non-answered phone call spoke louder than he ever could.
“It doesn’t matter,” she said quietly. It didn’t. She lied and that was the way the cookie crumbled. “I don’t need -” she exhaled as he took a step closer, the air leaving her almost instantly because everything in her was leaning into the distance closing between the two of them, knowing how wrong it was for her to have this much attachment towards someone who couldn’t leave his wife. She parted her lips when he told her she didn’t have to do this alone. “I didn’t tell you because I’m not the kind of girl who wants a man to feel trapped by her,” she whispered. It was true. She didn’t want him to stick around her because he had to, she wanted him to be here because it was what he wanted. She let her eyes move towards him when his hands touched her face, knowing she didn’t have a choice. “ - I can’t pretend I feel nothing towards you, Stef...” Her words were barely audible. “I can’t.” She kept her eyes on him. “So, if you are going to be in this... I need to know now... Do I have a chance with you? Romantically?”

The comment came and went but it echoed in Marco’s mind for a little. For Marco and Mariana to sit and have an open discussion about their feelings for one another of even in general, that wasn’t exactly their speed but it didn’t mean he didn’t know she cared. How they felt for one another came out in their actions, the looks they gave one another. All you had to do was watch the two of them and you could see how much was being said without any words being exchanged. Marco knew it as well, although he had, for a while now, tried to set it aside but the longer it went on the less he pushed the truth away. It was always going to be a hard thing for him to look at her and not think to deny it because of his past but Mariana wasn’t Isa and she had lost someone, too. “Still pissed.” He huffed out, shaking his head. He wanted to get up and go but he knew it would be stupid to do so and surprisingly, he didn’t feel like being a complete idiot. “But i’ll be alright.” With his injury, he meant. It wasn’t his first rodeo and it surely wouldn’t be his last, painkillers were going to be his best friend for the time being. “What about you?” He questioned, raising a brow. “You good?”
Mariana let her head turn to look over at him as she slowly nodded her head. “Yeah, I don’t blame you.” She scoffed as she turned her head to look away from him. It had been hard to look in his direction because her heart was still beating out of fear. The way he had hopped into the car with a bullet to the arm and the thoughts of what would happened if the bullet had moved over only a few more inches. She didn’t think she could handle it. The fact her chest had a raging ache in it at the thought of how this whole day would have been different if he had been the one to die on the floor of the warehouse. Her hands balled into fists to keep them from shaking because the fear was overwhelming. She swallowed as she turned her head to look down at her hands, digging her fingernails into the palm of her hand because emotions weren’t something that was supposed to bloom between them. She wasn’t supposed to be this terrified to lose him. She had been so close to him that she couldn’t focus and disgustingly enough all she could think about was how pinned up against him she had been only hours ago. She turned her head to look over at him as she let go of the pressure in her palm. “Fuck it,” she said softly before she moved her leg over his lap and straddled on him. She put both of her hands against the sides of his neck before she leaned in and kissed him desperately.

He felt surprised by her response once again but this time, his expression was as blank as her had been. His eyes were watching Kyle once again. If he had already been guessing there were red flags, they became more clearer after that. He didn’t care for what the guy was saying, especially not when he was asking him to leave so the two could talk but Rory’s please made him sway ever so slightly. His gut feeling told him not to leave but if she was asking him to, then he might as well just go, figuring he could stand outside the door and wait for her. That’s what he was thinking to do, he even began to walk towards the door but the more he neared Kyle, the more it was pushed aside by his gut feeling. He was irritated now as well, which for Levi, wasn’t a feeling he liked to be in. He preferred to keep things light, shit was hard enough in his life but this guy? Yeah, this guy really seemed to piss him off. “How ‘bout you fuck off instead.” He didn’t even realize he was doing it until he felt the impact radiate up his arm the moment his fist met the side of Kyle’s face.
Rory wasn’t expecting Levi to actually cross the line and punch him. “Levi!” She called out as she moved to help Kyle stand up straight but that’s when Kyle pushed his hand against her face, pushing her across the room where she tripped over the chair and fell down to the ground. He moved to balance himself. “That’s how you wanna play this, tough guy?” He scoffed as he balled his fist up to punch Levi in the face. Her hands had been on the ground, knelt over and there was a part of her that was more embarrassed than anything because now the secret was out. She had been an O’Connor’s who had gotten into a relationship and couldn’t leave it. She had been from one of the most powerful families in the city, a family that would snap Kyle’s neck and throw him into the ocean like he was nothing and at that moment as she laid on the ground, she didn’t know if she was protecting Kyle or herself.

Levi was paying close attention to the way the two were with one another. He wondered if her family knew about the guy but like she had said, it was none of his business, was it? Although he couldn’t shake the sudden feeling he had gotten that something wasn’t right. He didn’t always have the best instincts but he could smell some kind of bullshit in the air. “Really?” He looked at her, perplexed by the idea of her wanting to pick fights. Either some serious shit was going on here or he really missed a lot of who she was now when he had been away. “What, so you were flirting with the girls boyfriend then?” He wasn’t asking it cause he took it literal, but none of it made real sense, not when he felt he knew her but that was the thing, maybe he didn’t really. Still, it wasn’t going to stop him from questioning the situation at hand. Did he think Kyle might’ve had something to do with it? Yeah. Did he think it was something that was a common occurrence? He wasn’t there yet. But even just the way she pleaded with him to calm himself down, the way he felt the need to be so dominant in the room, Levi knew the type.
Rory stood next to Kyle, feeling the male slightly grip her shoulder a little harder as Levi brought up her excuse for the shiner on her face. “Hmm...” She said softly as she glided her tongue along her lower lip, nodding her head at his words. “ Yeah, that’s the story I told you and it’s the story that’s not going to change.” She kept the expression on her face blank as Kyle moved hi arm from around her and moved closer to Levi again. “Why the fuck do you keep grilling her, man? If she already told you what happened than that’s what happened.” He glanced over his shoulder at Rory. “Can you tell him to leave so we can talk?” He asked. Rory’s eyes moved towards Levi as she gestured to the door. “Please.”

Her response to him, the bit of it being none of his business? That got a surprised look out of him, mostly because when he was around Rory, he enjoyed messing around with her. Everyone was always so tense, lightening the mood was his forte but with her at least he had a little to bounce off. The moment he stepped into the office, something had been off and the tension in the air felt thick once the other male stepped into the room. He was now wondering how long she had been dating the guy or even why she was. The shove wasn’t as surprising, but it got a laugh out of Levi. “Okay buddy.” Instead of feeling threatened by the guy or feeling the need pump his chest out like a gorilla claiming some territory, he found the guys reaction to him to be amusing in that moment. However, the way she seemed to want to step in? It made Levi think that this wasn’t the first time she got in the way of this hot-headed prick. His eyes focused on Rory for a second, replaying their conversation before they had been interrupted. “Why were you at the bar Rory?” He questioned her again, any signs of his natural playfulness completely gone as he did.
Rory knew she’d regret the way she was snapping at Levi but she knew if she had even attempted to take his side in this conversation she’d pay for it later. She swallowed as she moved her hand to Kyle’s arm. “Please, please...” She said softly, trying to bring him back to her but Levi’s question threw her off, her head turned to look over at him as she furrowed her brows slightly in confusion. “Wha -” she stopped herself as she moved her hand from Kyle’s arm. “You know a night out with the girls.” She shrugged her shoulders. Kyle had put his arm around Rory at this moment as he nodded his head. “Yeah, she just tends to pick fights with other women at bars.” She glanced up at Kyle for a second before turning her gaze towards Levi, pressing her lips together as she nodded her head at his words. “Yep, that’s... that’s me.” She knew that she had fucked up, she hadn’t been expecting Levi to be here and the fact he was stubborn and always tried to get her to talk to him especially if she was hurt.

“Wasn’t questioning if you could.” He commented without much thought to it. It wasn’t a matter of if she could or couldn’t, he was simply implying that she wasn’t on her own. His brows drew together once again. “Why were you at that bar?” He questioned but before he could even get a response, someone was walking in and although he was leaning in a little too closely to Rory, Levi was never one for taking note on the amount of personal space he invaded. If it was an O’Connor that walked in, he might’ve been more aware but he wouldn’t have pulled away like he was doing something he shouldn’t have been cause he didn’t see anything wrong. The fact that it wasn’t someone in the family just had him turning his head and staring at Kyle for a second, puzzled by the way he spoke to Rory about him. He didn’t know the guy personally and if questioned on the name, he’d remember it started with a K…or was it a C? He didn’t know nor did he really care to remember it before, simply seeing him within crowds that Levi always managed to cross paths with. Pushing himself up so he was standing up straight again he looked between the two of them. “Who the fuck are you?”
Rory suddenly felt like she was under interrogation and her lips had parted to answer his questions but the fact Kyle had stormed right in. She froze in her chair, knowing if she had jumped back now all it would do was fill the man in front of her with suspicion and the last thing she needed was her brother’s to find out. When Levi stood up so did she. She moved to create distance between the two males as her eyes moved to Kyle. “Levi is my brother’s friend.” She told him as she glanced towards Levi. “And Kyle is my boyfriend, not that it’s any of your business.” She gave him a look. Kyle took a few steps closer towards Levi and it took everything in Rory not to step between them. “You heard her, I’m the fucking boyfriend.” He spat as he gave Levi a little shove. Rory moved closer, shaking her head. “Kyle, don’t.”

“What?” His brows drew together. It wasn’t far-fetched so it wasn’t exactly like he was going to dismiss it as anything more but the shiner was a clear indication of some serious power the other chick must’ve had. “Don’t worry about my panties.” He jested as he came up to her chair, grabbing the side of it and swinging her around so she had no choice but to look at him as he ducked down to get an even closer look at her. His hand naturally went to grab her chin, lifting her head up slightly and moving it some from side to side. None of the O’Connor’s were going to like that anyone had put their hands on her, no matter how much she didn’t want it to be a big deal. While he was easily the most out going out of, well, just about anyone he knew, even he could say it didn’t look good. The sharp inhale as he shook his head, dropping his hand away from her as he rested both his hands on the arm rests so he could keep himself close to eye level with her. “Well, the bitch better look worse ‘cause that shit looks bad. Where was this? Who was it?” With a tilt of his head, he then wondered where she would’ve been to fall into such a scenario. She was all grown up now, sometimes he had to remind himself of that while other times, it was too in his face.
Rory gave him a look. “You heard me. What more can I tell you?” She knew how snappy she probably sounded but the last thing she wanted to talk about was the shiner on her cheek, the fact that she had been one of those girls, already having an excuse on file for if he ended up piecing all the clue together. “Someone has to worry about your panties.” Once he came over and grabbed the back of the chair and spun her around, an exhale left her lips. One that had obviously told him how annoying he was being. “You know I’m a big girl now and I can take care of myself?” She tried not to think about how his fingers felt against her jaw. How the second his fingers touched her skin it felt like she was on fire and the guilt mixing in with that was making it hard to keep a neutral expression on her face. She let her eyes slowly glance down towards her hands as she shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t know who she was but it was at the bar down the street.” She didn’t have a full story prepared yet. She wasn’t ready for someone to be around right after the whole thing happened. “Are you going to let me -.” Before she could finish her sentence Kyle opened the door and stared at the scene in front of him. “Ror... Who the fuck is that?”

Any closer and his hands wouldn’t have stayed by his sides, something he knew from the restless feeling he suddenly had. Just as before, he wasn’t sure what to think of it but rather than moving any closer he took a step back, running a hand over his face as his mind continued to process the information. Matt clearly had no idea of anything either or else he wouldn’t have received the warm greeting he had. At the very least, his defensive reaction was crumbling away. His heart was still pounding in his chest and the whole interaction felt surreal at the moment, but he was trying his best to ground himself even if all he wanted to do was walk out and go drink. Stefan figured if he did that, then he’d prove something he didn’t mean to, like the fact that he didn’t care because he did. He cared about her a lot, so why had he bailed and ignored her this whole time, besides the obvious reason anyway. Sighing he looked up at her once again after having focused on a spot on the ground for a little too long, the silence and tension in the air thickening.
“I’m leaving Alexis.” It was another reason he had returned to Chicago. The blood and inevitable war headed their ways seemed like reason enough to stand by his brother and sister but he had no reason to be in New York any longer than he already had been. The news hadn’t been broken to anyone yet and truthfully, it felt as unreal as this whole moment. He once again stepped forward, ignoring the small twitch in his hands wanting to have a drink in his grasp. “I should have called you back.” That much was clear now, especially when there was a life growing inside of her. The thought made him take another deep breath. Whether she was trying to swat him away from the idea of being it being his or it actually wasn’t, still felt unclear. The pure shock of the whole thing wasn’t allowing him to properly settle into any of it. He also still hated the idea of her sleeping with someone else after what they had done which, yes, was a fucking ridiculous thing but he couldn’t help the feeling. All he could do was to not try and display that jealousy but still, the thought of it caused his shoulders to tense and his jaw to clench momentarily.
“I didn’t mean to disappear on you like that, I just–I woke up and you were there–” he shook his head. “You’re Matt’s sister.” He stated as if she didn’t know that already or as if he didn’t know exactly that the night he stripped her down. It was messy, messy because he was married. If he hadn’t been, then maybe he would’ve gone about things differently but what ifs were pointless here.
Bella swallowed hard, the emotions bubbling up to the seams. She didn’t want to be that woman, the one who clung onto a man because he slept with her... because he knocked her up. She didn’t need him to raise their child and it was why she only gave him one chance to answer her phone call. She had been fully ready to take care of this thing all by herself and the longer it went without telling him, the less she was willing to actually put in the effort to let him know. She turned her head to look at him when the words left his lips, the words she had been dying to hear for the last five months. Her hands moved down to her bump, running her hands along it as she tried to breathe steadily.
“Why?” She asked, the word barely above a whisper. She kept her hands on her stomach, feeling like this action had been her only control, her only comfort in the entire conversation. She nodded her head at his words when he told her that he should have called back. “You should have,” she said softly as she glanced down at her stomach. She knew how wrong it was to keep saying things. “I called you after I took the pregnancy test.” She told him quietly as she kept her eyes on the small bump, thinking about how big their daughter had been. Her head lifted up in time to see his jaw clench and her eyebrow arched up.
“Yeah, what’s your point? It didn’t seem to bother you that night.” She pointed out as she dropped her hands from his stomach. “I know I’m his sister, I know how messy this is... Why do you think I’ve been lying to him for five months?”

It was the response that he was expecting, of course she couldn’t reach him. Each time he thought to answer her, he worried about what to say. She wasn’t just a random hook up even if all his actions seemed to reflect what happened between them in such a way. The idea of having to face what came with all of it simply felt like too much and for Stefan? Well, all that really meant was drinking a little more than he already did. Alexis had noticed the difference as well and their problems only became worse. None of it was surprising but this? This he hadn’t seen coming at all and he had no idea what to do with it. “Is it?” Besides the fact that her previous statement made it seem like she was reaching out with the intention of telling him, there was simply a gut feeling this wasn’t someone else’s kid. He stared at her, taking a deep breath before moving a little closer only to stop almost directly in front of her.
Bella let her eyes rest on him as she glided her tongue along her lower lip, turning her head to look away from him because there was a part of her that was pissed off. She had peed on that stick all by herself and when she saw the plus sign the first thing she did was call him to ask him what she should do and what he would want to do and then the fucking voicemail message happened. She had been so pissed she didn’t bother to try and call again. She had always assumed that he wouldn’t come back but she knew it was coming after all this shit started to go down. She lifted her eyes in his direction as she nodded her head. “Yeah, fucked someone else a few days after you.” She told him but then he started moving closer and she was cursing at herself for being up against the counter. “Don’t.” She whispered, moving her hands off the edge of the counter towards him. “Don’t.”

He felt a tightness in his throat, desperate to say something but painfully aware of Matt’s presence especially once he started talking about him without even knowing it. Shit. Fuck. “A girl?” He repeated, the shock still hadn’t worn off. How could it? His mind hadn’t even fully processed what was unfolding in front of him. When Matt moved to Bella, Stefan’s gaze on her finally broke as he looked at his friend instead but it still took him a second to catch exactly what it was that Matt had said to him. Marco. Sam. Coming. That was mostly what he got from him, but it was enough to click together the question he had been asked. “Oh–uh,” he couldn’t recover so easily, shaking his head as he glanced over at her then at Matt again. “I’ll meet up with you guys later, I have to..uh–I told Alaina I’d meet her in a bit.” At least he managed to get the lie out, even if the execution of it hadn’t been the best. He waited till Matt was out the door and even then, he waited a few more seconds after that before he turned to face her fully once again. “Why the hell didn’t you tell me?!” The answer seemed obvious enough, didn’t it? He ditched without a single word for months but it still didn’t make sense to him. Maybe it wasn’t his? Although the thought didn’t exactly bring him much comfort.
Bella didn’t know how to talk while her brother was in the room and there had been a series of emotions coursing through the woman as she kept herself across the kitchen as far as the distance would allow them. She pressed her lips together as she dropped her hand down to her stomach, breathing in to calm herself because she had been benched for this reason. Her eyes flickered past him to watch her brother. “Let Lucia know that if she needs my help...” Instead of letting her finish the sentence his hand waved at her and she rolled her eyes as she moved towards the counter, leaning against it as she waited, her head turned to look back at him when he finally spoke again, a little laugh left her lips. “How the fuck was I supposed to tell you when you didn’t answer any of my text messages? My phone calls?” She gave him a look as she filled up a glass of water. After filling the cup, she turned her body so she was resting against the counter, her eyes lifting up towards him. “And you are pretty cocky to assume that the kid is even yours.”

Levi had been messing around in the pub for an hour now with more drinks than he should’ve had considering that the sun hadn’t even began setting yet. He had also successfully convinced one of the guys to let him tattoo him with something stupid. He was about to slip away to go get some of his things, but as he moved by everyone the bump of the shoulder had him turning to see who it was. “Shit where’s the fire?” He said jokingly noticing that it had been rory that second but it took him another to notice something was wrong with her. With the lack of light and her moving quickly from him, which in itself was odd since he was use to spotting her and messing with her for a little while, it would be easy to let it go as nothing but Levi eventually followed the way she had gone. She was already in the office when he came up to the door and without a knock to signal him coming in, he simply stepped into the room looking over and realizing he had been right. “What the fuck is that?” He gestured to his own face over where the mark was on her own. “What the hell happened?” He was moving towards her as he asked. “Who did that to you?” An idiot, that was for sure.
Rory had moved into the office, shut the door behind her and moved her hand back to pull off the hoodie. She inhaled as she moved over to the desk to start on the paperwork when the door opened almost instantly, her head turned back and she parted her lips to tell him to knock next time but he was already calling her out. She glided her tongue along her lower lip as she turned around, leaning back against her desk as her hands moved to the edge of it, putting her feet out a bit as she shrugged her shoulders. “Got into a fight.” She told him as she let her eyes move up towards his face and she inhaled a deep breath to get ready to tell him off but he was closing the distance between them and the instant anger she felt towards him faded away like a dumbass school girl with a stupid crush on the popular boy which was ridiculous all on its own since she had a boyfriend. She shrugged her shoulders as she tried to keep her cool, act like this had been her own doing. “Some bitch thought I was flirting with her ugly ass boyfriend so she hit me. It’s not a big deal, don’t get your panties in a fucking twist.”

Laying the strap of her bag across her chest she looked over at him when he finally said what it was they wanted out of her. “And I have to be the one to find your problem?” She stopped in her tracks. It didn’t make sense to her but at the same time it did. She was incredibly smart, especially when it came to any tech but she could also be incredibly stupid, especially when it came to love and more specifically when it came to Flynn. And if I say no? Was what she wanted to ask, but she didn’t nor did she waste her time on thinking it was a real option. “What happens if this supposed leak finds out i’m about to catch them in their lies? Exactly how am I going to protect myself from this?” Because she knew, there was always the possibility of her own life on the line for things like this. It sure wasn’t the life for the weak.
Flynn tried not to scoff at her words, moving over to the driver side door as he let his eyes rest on her from over the roof of the car. “You think I really wanted you to be the one the finding our rat?” He asked, knowing how bitter his words probably sounded but knowing he meant them coming from within. He didn’t want her to have any part of this god damn thing especially after what had happened. People were going to die in this war and the last thing he wanted was for her to be caught up in it. He put his hands on the roof of the car, gliding his tongue along his lower lip. “I won’t let anything happen to you.” He said, the tone of his voice steady and stern.

“Kids?” She repeated for herself quietly, raising a brow at that. Her eyes widened a bit as he told her just how terribly wrong things had gone, running a hand through her on hair as she processed it. They all knew it was going to get worse before any of them saw some real control over the situation but she felt the panic in that moment. “Who are these people.” She whispered to herself mostly, because she didn’t understand their level in lacking of compassion. She also understood why Declan was quick to have them pack their things and go anywhere else but Maeve wasn’t so willing to do the same. “I can send the kids with my parents.” She nodded her head. Although she never truly wanted to be apart from them, them being with her parents was the next best thing, that wouldn’t leave her in a constant ball of nerves. “But I’m not going anywhere if you’re not. There’s no way I’m leaving you here alone.” Of course she knew he had his siblings here, but it wasn’t what she was speaking on.
Declan exhaled. “Not even old enough to drink yet,” his words were soft, the thought of his kids having to be in the field that young made him sick to his stomach, thinking about the fact one of them was dead and the other could have potentially died if Marco didn’t have a fucking conscience.” He scoffed, the thought of their son being shot due to the life they were living. Their daughter being choked. His hands shook at the thoughts crossing his mind and his hand moved to her shoulder, giving it a squeeze, more to confront himself than her since she had always been the level-headed one. “Psychos,” he said softly as he moved his hand from her shoulder, letting her next set of words sink in, shaking his head at her words. “We can’t just drop them off at your parent’s. They can’t lose both of us.” He had a feeling that this war was going to have a body count. “Mae...” He took a hold of her jaw between his fingers as he leaned in, putting his forehead against hers. “I can’t lose you.”

Just the little bit of skin he was touching had her feel like she was on fire. There was a small smile on her lips from his words, her eyes moving down to his hands and back up again. She was needy, so much so that she felt she’d burst and yet her next actions even caught her by surprise. Grabbing his wrist, she hesitated with herself for a second. There was definitely an argument going on with her mind and her body, but ultimately her mind won. The things she wanted to do with him, they wouldn’t be happening just yet and she wanted the moment where neither of them were holding back. She moved up slightly and this time, she kissed him. It was a strange thing, to feel what she did while she was kissing him. Of course there was the obvious lust involved, but it went much deeper than that to something she had never had. “I only want to,” exhaling, like it took every fiber in her being to finish what she was saying. “When you can, too.” She whispered against his lips, another smile appearing afterwards despite her body feeling betrayed by her own self. “Just don’t make me wait long.” She jested, lightheartedly though her expression changed slightly. “And never scare me like that again.” Now talking about almost dying on her, as if he had a choice in the matter with how they lived.
Adrian glanced his eyes down towards her hand wrapped around his wrist before slowly moving his eyes back to her face. She was stopping him and the thought drove him mad. He exhaled a long deep breath as he furrowed his brows when she leaned up and kissed him. He glided his tongue along his lower lip as he let his eyes rest on her. “Can’t even do a little hand action?” He questioned, knowing it was typical male response but he was already as hard as a rock and honestly had nothing to lose at that point. He growled out a groan, rolling over to lay next to her as he moved his hand towards his hair, brushing his fingers through it as he turned his head to look over at her. “This whole thing just proved me right. You were jealous.” He smirked. “You wanted me all to yourself.” He nudged her lightly as he leaned over again, delicately pressing his lips against hers.

“It seems like it.” He mumbled to himself. It seemed to be happening all around him but he hadn’t known what was going to happen between the two of them or how the dynamic would change between the three. It should’ve been something he thought about when he was slipping the her clothes off her but instead his mind found it difficult to stop thinking about their night together. That was, until Matt said that he was going to be uncle. For a second it seemed like everything stopped and he swore the air was sucked out of the room and his lungs, having to remind himself to take a breath. An uncle? What? His gaze shot over in Bella’s direction. She had been eating and then just like that she was throwing up her food. His eyes jumped over to where the onsie was now, looking back at Matt for a second before locking on Bella once again. He hadn’t even realized he had stepped away from Matt and towards her, but when his eyes fell on her belly he stopped halfway between the two of them. “You’re pregnant?” The shock was evident in his voice, though someone could assume it was simply from a friend completely clueless to such big news. The number Matt said registering even more now. “Five months…” holy shit. His heart was pounding in his chest so hard that he swore he felt and heard the pulse in different areas of his body. “You’re five months pregnant.” He said once more, as it clicked. Now he was the one that felt sick.
Bella wished she could have melted away into the floor she was standing on because this was the last place she imagined she’d be. Honestly, she knew it was naive to think he wasn’t going to come strolling back into Chicago but a part of her was hoping he didn’t remember how long ago their night had transpired. She could see it happening, the clicking it all together into a big ball of fun and her eyes moved to Matt for a second before glancing back at Stefano. “Mhm,” she said into her cup of water before pulling it from her lips as she glanced down at her stomach. “Five months or so...” She would do anything to act like he wasn’t the father of the child, plus he’d be too chicken to tell Matt about their night together especially since he pulled the ultimate disappearing act the morning after and since. Matt nodded his head as he moved his hands to the counter. “Yeah, apparently she had a night with some wanker. She doesn‘t even remember who it was.” He shook his head in disbelief. “And it’s a girl, ya believe that?” Bella mentally cursed at Matt for opening his god damn mouth but she knew Stefano was his best friend and he was excited to be an uncle. He moved over towards Bella and kissed the side of her head. “I have to go help Marco find that piece of shit Sam.” He moved over to put his hand on Stefano’s shoulder. “You comin’, man?”
