We’ve got some severe winds up to 90 km going on in our area today and overnight tonight. Things have been flying around outside and the wind makes a howling noise that sounds like a cat crying. Oreo keeps looking out the window to see if he can find whatever is making the noise. Weather like this always makes me uneasy. Thankfully I’ve got my cats to cuddle with in the case of a power outage.🌬️

The jumping spider family (Salticidae) contains over 500 described genera and over 5,000 described species,[1] making it the largest family of spiders with about 13% of all species.[2] Jumping spiders have some of the best vision among arthropods and use it in courtship, hunting, and navigation. Although they normally move unobtrusively and fairly slowly, most species are capable of very agile jumps, notably when hunting, but sometimes in response to sudden threats or crossing long gaps. Both their book lungs and thetracheal system are well-developed, and they use both systems (bimodal breathing). Jumping spiders are generally recognized by their eye pattern.
