We’ve reached a HUGE milestone. 500 FOLLOWERS! We started this blog back in March (I think) for a class project on cultivating an online community and we didn’t think that we’d get 50 followers let alone 500. Thank you to every single one of our followers. We literally couldn’t have done it without you!

Thought we could do a check in with Bumble today.💜

Bumble came to us about six months ago. She is special needs, although she does not know that. She lives a great piggy life, just like her friends. She has only one functioning leg, but gets around just fine and in her own way. She does not let her problems hold her back.

We do make a few changes for her. She lives in a large fleece pen, with other females and babies. She is a permanent resident in this pen. The fleece bedding is softer for her knees, which she uses to get around. We trim her nails, more often as they are not used at all, and curl as they grow, so we keep them short for her to prevent issues. We have a step in the pen so she can get into the kitchen area of her pen to eat the hay. Last few weeks though she has just jumped in there like everyone else. She works everything out. 😀

She is a relaxed girl, loves her pig friends, loves her veggies, adores cilantro and she is comfortable and happy.

My mind wanders back to when an unnamed person visited the caviary, and told me they would take her to their field and kill her. Ouch! I pay no mind to this person as they do not have a love for animals, only how an animal can perform for them. BUT! I do have a love for all animals, and bumble has let me know every step,of the way, how happy she is, how she is enjoying her pig life. She runs to the front of the cage, just like her friends, begs for extra treats, runs around chasing and playing with the babies. She is different , yes, but oh boy she has bought a lot of love into this home.

Bumble you are worthy, important and a permanent resident here with us. You are family. We need nothing from you, just for you to be happy.
