I listened to Red in full the other day - the first time I’ve done that in a long time (maybe ever?). Don’t get me wrong - I listen to all the songs individually often, but rarely sit down and listen to any album from start to finish. I used to always consider Red to be my favorite album (before Folklore/Evermore). After hearing more opinions from other Swifties who never seemed to like it as much as I did, I wondered if I may have been to quick to equate some of my favorite songs to my love of the album as a whole. But after re-listening, I fell in love with Red all over again.

Taylor did something beautiful with Red. Not only is it heartbreaking and yearning, but also joyful and playful and articulates so many feelings that are hard to put into words. I am so beyond excited to listen to all these old songs (and the new ones!) for the first time again.

I know some of you thought that would be like trying to solve a crossword and realizing there’s no right answer BUT…you played it good & right. Congrats pals, you guessed the correct titles and feature artists on Red (my version). The vault tracks will feature Chris Stapleton, Phoebe Bridgers, Mark Foster and the first song Ed Sheeran and I ever wrote together the first time we met in 2012❗️I can’t express my gratitude enough to these artists for helping me bring these songs to life. I can’t wait til we can dust off our highest hopes and relive these memories together. We’ll also be making a bunch of new ones too, since Red (Taylor’s Version) includes so many songs you haven’t heard yet. Til then, I’ll be counting down and picturing it all in my head. Today is a really good day for Red stans, and I am very proudly one of them

I’ve always said that the world is a different place for the heartbroken. It moves on a different axis, at a different speed. Time skips backwards and forwards fleetingly. The heartbroken might go through thousands of micro-emotions a day trying to figure out how to get through it without picking up the phone to hear that old familiar voice. In the land of heartbreak, moments of strength, independence, and devil-may-care rebellion are intricately woven together with grief, paralyzing vulnerability and hopelessness. Imagining your future might always take you on a detour back to the past. And this is all to say, that the next album I’ll be releasing is my version of Red.

Musically and lyrically, Red resembled a heartbroken person. It was all over the place, a fractured mosaic of feelings that somehow all fit together in the end. Happy, free, confused, lonely, devastated, euphoric, wild, and tortured by memories past. Like trying on pieces of a new life, I went into the studio and experimented with different sounds and collaborators. And I’m not sure if it was pouring my thoughts into this album, hearing thousands of your voices sing the lyrics back to me in passionate solidarity, or if it was simply time, but something was healed along the way.

Sometimes you need to talk it over (over and over and over) for it to ever really be… over. Like your friend who calls you in the middle of the night going on and on about their ex, I just couldn’t stop writing. This will be the first time you hear all 30 songs that were meant to go on Red. And hey, one of them is even ten minutes long.

I know a lot of Taylor Swift fans are also now growing to be fans of Olivia Rodrigo, probably because of the similarity of their content but also because of how much Olivia loves Taylor.

I just listened to SOUR so if you haven’t listened to it yet, you should (!!) but I have a new theory about Taylor releasing any new re-recordings.

Because Taylor and Olivia now are kinda friends and Olivia interpolated New Year’s Day for one of her new songs and helped promote Fearless (TV), I think Taylor might be purposely waiting to release any new content.

She usually releases new things on Thursdays, but when she dropped the Kissing in the Rain Chapter on Wednesday of this week, I was kinda surprised, as it seemed like an unusual release date. But since Olivia’s album just came out, I can’t help but wonder if Taylor purposely avoided releasing something the same day as Olivia so as to not overshadow her. It’s no secret that Taylor’s fans are much more established than Olivia’s, just because Taylor is older and has been in the industry longer. So if there is a lot of crossover between their fans, Taylor wouldn’t want to have her stuff (especially re-recordings) overshadow the release of Olivia’s new album.

This leads me to believe that Taylor might hold off a bit longer before she releases any new re-recordings so that Olivia’s album can get streams and go through its own release arc with nothing standing in the way of Taylor fans (who also like Olivia) streaming it.

Again this is just my theory, but it would explain why we haven’t gotten any new content (not including the chapters) while she’s been dropping so many Easter eggs. She’s letting Olivia have her moment uninterrupted.

I’ve recently seen a LOT of theories about @taylorswift announcing/dropping something on April 30th.

There have been a lot of posts about Taylor potentially dropping a third album to complement Folklore and Evermore, after a lot of 3s have been discovered in Taylor’s tweets, along with some old theories about merch.

Personally, I don’t want to entirely rule out that SOMETHING is happening this weekend, but I think Taylor was already pretty clear about the Woodvale error on the album cover and that Folklore/Evermore were a complete set. And as much as I LOVE those two albums and wish for a third, I doubt that’s coming next, as she has entered into an era of re-recordings.

Obviously in the Stephen Colbert interview she dropped hints at 1989 being the next album to be re-recorded, and with Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version) already being released in a movie trailer (just like what happened with Love Story (TV)), I think of all the theories I’ve heard, that single being announced or dropped makes the most sense.

It does seem a bit quick to me since Fearless (TV) was released less than a month ago, but I know she does want to pump out these re-recordings rather quickly to regain control of her music.

So I’m hopeful (!!) that something is coming soon. But with April 30th quickly approaching I wanted to get my opinion out there.

I also should say how much I loved Fearless (TV) and how excited it made me for the rest of the re-recordings. Taylor is so powerful and so respectable for what she is doing. More good stuff is coming soon - I’m sure of it.

When I was in fourth grade, I performed Love Story for my school’s talent show. Just me, alone on stage, with a guitar. I was just a little girl who loved to sing and wanted to be a singer, just like Taylor. That was 11 years ago. I remember freaking out at my first Taylor Swift concert (Speak Now) when she performed Love Story and floated over the audience. Every time since has felt like a magical experience and it remains one of my favorite songs to listen to and to play. I can’t wait to hear the re-recorded versions of all of Fearless and especially Love Story. A real full-circle moment for me as a fan :) congrats Taylor 💛 @taylorswift @taylornation

Happy birthday to someone who has given me so much. I remember when my mom walked in and showed my sisters and I “Our Song” for the first time when I was just a little girl. Ever since then you’ve inspired me, walked with me, cried with me, danced with me, and screamed with me at the top of my lungs. I’ve been moved by your lyrics time and time again. I’m honored to live at the same time as someone like you. You never fail to impress me and your release of first Folklore and then Evermore within months was no exception. Thank you for all the music and all the concerts and all the love you have shown for others throughout your career. Wondering if the third person this song is referencing is possibly John Mayer? When she mentioned heartbreak I first thought it had to be Jake but these lyrics reminded me so much of Dear John...

And

The blue sky part also reminds me of how much she mentions the color blue in Hoax as well (in the chorus).

Whoever it’s about it’s such a beautiful song and hearing her describe it in the documentary was so intriguing.

Her saying “that was so fun” at the end reminded me sooo much of the end of Stay Stay Stay... maybe that’s another Easter Egg that she’s re-recording Red? Anyway I’m very excited for this I love watching her creative process and seeing her work with all these other talented people!! Thank you Taylor
