oh also another thing that bugs me about how kunikida gets characterized is how often poeple describe him as someone super polite who never swears lmao. he has one of the most vulgar speech patterns in the series, the most of the ada for sure. he only uses honorifics for fukuzawa, ranpo and yosano, being direct and unofficial with the others, regularly calls atsushi "brat" and uses familiar/rude pronouns (like ore/omae/kisama) and people think he'd tell someone off for saying fuck

i love that we have kunikida and dazai as like, established partners in the ada, its wonderful

but they are the only paired-up duo in the ada which is extra funny to me, like no one else has set partners except for them

dazai needed the supervision and the universe wanted to keep giving kunikida mini-heart attacks everyday

ppl be like "knkdz is abusive bc knkd is mean to dazai when dazai canonically struggles with mental health and is suicidal and blah blah blah :(" and then turn around and ship skk with their full chest as if their dynamic isn’t based entirely on the fact that they canonically genuinely hate each other-

I find it so funny that both times Chuuya has witnessed Kunikida handling a situation, he solved it by getting himself blown up. (Saving Aya and jumping out the helicopter) Like, what must he think of this man.

Imagine after the whole breaking Dazai out of prison scenario he's just like "Oh, by the way, congrats on finding a partner who's just as bad at suicide as you, you're a match made in hell"

and Dazai just spit takes
