Okay, so I’ll be the first to admit that I think about this all the freaking time
Like, you just joined the avengers and you’ve been so sweet to him since day 1 and he... does not know how to react
Like, cannot compute that someone as cute as you, who knows who he is and what he’s done, would treat him like you treat anyone else
What he doesn’t notice, in fact, is that you don’t treat him like anyone else
You treat him even better
At first, it was because you felt like he needed it, deserved to be reminded of kindness
But then you started to develop real feelings for him, just as he developed his crush for you, and that’s when things at the tower really began to become interesting for its other occupants.
You’d walk into the gym for your daily workouts, Bucky would stare while you did your stretches and then bolt in the direction of the bathrooms
Steve and Sam knew better than to follow him there
The usual introspective Sargent became practically mute whenever he walked into the kitchen to find you there, fixing breakfast for everyone
And the fact that you didn’t let it bother you and still prepared his favorite brought a warmness to his heart and his face
Once, he thought he overheard that you had a boyfriend
His heart almost stopped, he thought he had lost his chance before he even tried anything
But then, later, someone asked you about it in front of him and you denied it, breathing air into his lungs again
And when you said you had your eyes on someone, looking directly at him before winking?
Homeboy thought he had died right there
He spent the entire night trying to gather enough courage to ask you about it, maybe finally ask you on a date too
But alas, you both went to bed alone and without sharing your feelings
In the morning, when he found you barefoot and sleepy, baking cookies in the kitchen?
“I heard you screaming, I thought these would make you feel better about the nightmares.”
He just couldn’t handle anymore
Bucky wasn’t a man of words, and he had tried and tried again to find a way to confess how he felt about you
That morning, he simply allowed himself to be taken over by his feelings
And he kissed you in the middle of the kitchen, the same spot where he first saw you
Obviously, besides your own friends, you would tease him endlessly
“Took you long enough, huh?”
He’d simply blush and duck his head on the crook of your neck
I think being in a relationship with him would be kind of the same?
He’d be the best at making you feel loved, though
Because he’d be taking advantage of each and every second he got to hold and kiss you
I really want a Bucky now
