Yellow Lady’s Slipper Bruce Peninsula National Park Tobermory, Ontario, Canada June 16, 2013
Yellow Lady’s Slipper (aka Yellow moccasin-flower, Nerveroot, Noah’s Ark, American Valerian, Whippoorwill’s-Shoe), I think this is technically Cypripedium parviflorum but I couldn’t swear to it. Although some sources refer to these flowers as “common”, I haven’t seen them that often. But up in and around the campgrounds of Bruce Peninsula National Park near Tobermory, Ontario, they certainly were common the days that we were visiting. They bloom in bunches of up to a dozen flowers or more all along the roads. We were just fortunate to be there at their peak.
