im sorry i have to point this out but TWERFs are smart. keep reading. they intentionally employ tactics that they know will get people to switch to their side.

they know how to argue people in. they were argued in. they know about nontransfemnine people’s latent transmisogyny and they know that we are not as vigilant as we should be. they make popular posts.

they are undercover. they pretend to be allies. there are nonbinary TWERFs and TWERFs that are WOC. keep reading. these people have been coerced in and know how to coerce others in. there are many different ways, and there are many different things to look out for.

when i say don’t argue with TWERFs, when i say ignore them and don’t give them a platform in the first place, it’s not a giving up tactic. it’s because TWERFs know that if they can point out one tiny flaw in your logic, or spout some bullshit that some nontransfeminine person has thought about before, they’ve hooked someone.

TWERFs count on preying on the young and impressionable, the people that don’t know or talk to transfeminine people. this has to be pointed out. the only reason i know this is because i am not transfeminine and i have seen many of my peers, not transfeminine, fall to them.

stop arguing that they’re stupid. don’t let your guard down.

EDIT: and they are only one specific type of transmisogyny so watch yourself

If you have the ability and desire to support the unemployed in South Africa, Organizing for Work is an excellent group: both in practice and ideologically.

It is a program which helps orginze the unemployed find work, through printing out CVs, facilititating computer and internet access, and teaching people how to present themselves in interviews. They also act as a solidarity network for workers, employed or not. It is led by unemployed volunteers. Ie, it's not an NGO who conducts themselves like white saviors.

They are looking for monetary, skill donations, and social capital. Money would be primarily for the transport of unemployed to get to job interviews. They also need constant support with making their website and software easier and for efficient to find work. I'm sure they would also greatly appreciate any other form of help you are able to give.

In the past year they had 15 000 rand in donations, THAT'S ONLY 1000$. 1000$ to run 8 different branches.

I have never asked for something to be rebloged before, but I think that even that could help.

So yeah Dante Markus hasn’t even been alive for two months yet and we’re facing eviction in the middle of a pandemic!! And because we’re in the middle of a pandemic trying to find a rental is not exactly cost effective

I’m already paying 1300 a month and am pulling that outa my ass so I’m not sure where I’m supposed to find money for anything else I’m freaking the duck out and I’m really not sure what to do especially right now.

I had a pretty sever hemorrhage post birth and am just now finally healing so I can’t even go back to work yet like I’m so cucked I fucking thought shit would work out for once but fuck me i guess.

Not only it is incredibly disrespectful and lesbophobic to steal the lesbian flag, recolor it blue and say it’s for gays, but it’s also incredibly disrespectful to treat gay folk like “opposite lesbians” and lesbians like “opposite gays” when they’re two different, whole identities with their own unique experiences and cultures.

Just learned that Caster Semenya lost her legal battle and I’m so fucking sad. this is such a huge loss for intersex people in sports and sets a real fucking dangerous precedent that essentially excludes all intersex people from participating in sports unless they go through (unconsensual) HRT. the blatent racism and intersexism that the court is showing is fucking despicable and I’m so fucking upset. 

i’m also really fucking suspicious that the ONLY people talking about intersexism in the context of this legal descision are intersex people. even when this is BLATENTLY and obviously intersexist like, perisex people refuse to recognize it. and that’s fucking disappointing. i know there isn’t much awareness or solidairty with us, but still. it’s not a big ask to ask y’all to do the bare minimum of explicitly calling intersexism out for what it is.  perisex people fucking do better.

Yall know that “toxic masculinity” refers to expressions of masculinity that are toxic, right? it doesn’t imply that all masculinity is toxic- it’s used to talk about like, how people will repress their emotions aside from anger in order to seem “manly”, and how they might act in violent or self-destructive ways because that is what society expects of men.

masculinity is not inherently toxic. it hasn’t been poisoned or corrupted. it is a neutral concept, a kind of gender presentation, and it doesn’t make you a bad, unhealthy, or toxic person to be masculine.

masculinity does not need to be “soft” to be acceptable, it can just be neutral. because it is not toxic, just sometimes expressed in toxic ways or for toxic reasons.
