Gee donphan why do you get TWO paradox forms?
#990#iron treads#pokemon from memory#The real thing looks more like a donphan/shelgon fusion imo#Very round and the face screen is embedded in the body#Also I’m gonna go off for a sec since this is the first “future” paradox pokemon of the list#I feel overall that the past forms were a bit stronger#It’s interesting to see a “prehistoric” version of existing pokemon!#And they did the designs very creatively sometimes#Like it raises the question of what I like to consider in the pokemon universe as “macro evolution”#Ie. evolution akin to what we have irl where creatures change over millions of years#As opposed to what I consider as pokemon’s “micro evolution”#= the evolution of an individual across their own lifetime and as determined by their species#But anyway yeah I thought the past versions were a bit more interesting#Vs the future versions of “what if pokemon was a robot?”#And that was really cool for some of them#Like iron valiant which had the creative twist of being a gardevoir/gallade fusion thing#But the others are just…idk#They feel a bit weak conceptually#Maybe if they were like. Made to fill a specific niche?#Or showing how a species might evolve in the future?#Like….idk after being integrated with our technology in various ways how might an organism like rotom change?#Or a porygon Z becoming something more than a virus infected porygon 2 if left unchecked? Or if “fixed”?#What if a solosis one day got a separate organism integrated into its cytosol and evolved into a different organism?#(something like the endosymbiotic theory with mitochondria?)#Like there’s so many ways to explore “pokemon of the future” without it necessarily being “robot”#And it feels like something of a missed opportunity#Especially since some “present day” pokemon are already robot-coded#Anyway. Long tangent for the funny robo elephant pokemon

Dusknoir. Magnezone.#These were all names and faces that I had learned as always belonging#Whereas for older fans they must have felt new and foreign#perhaps like interlopers#But now I am an “older pokemon fan”#Not like gen 1 old#But gen 4 is nearer the start then where we’re at now
