Aww man! I remember this fic back in the day, it inspired my own work so much! Never thought I'd see this here on tumblr, even if everything seems to be finished up? Still great to know this is still kicking around in some form! I may just need to re-read the series for nostalgia's sake.

It's always encouraging to hear when Rebirth inspired other artists, so thank you for sharing that with me. ^-^

The project has ended now, but it'll stay online for as long as the internet allows, so feel free to give it another look through sometime if you wish! You may see new things with older eyes~

Pokemon SV Thoughts

I finished the main game in Pokemon Scarlet.

Apparently not only mycunium is canon, but also taragirite. Haha!

But seriously, the stones that cause terastallization and are also somehow able to power a near-sentient android aren't that far off in function to what I'd imagined taragirite to be.

SV caught me by surprise in a number of ways. The plot went in directions I wouldn't have expected (were I not spoiled to them) and that also wouldn't have felt out of place in the Rebirth Universe. I appreciated the subversion of the 'evil team' and the main antagonist. I even got endeared to the main three characters you connect with throughout the journey. Honestly the only thing that really let the game down were the bugs and optimisation issues, and I still had a fun time regardless. (Would have been nice to also have voice acting, but that's more of a bonus than necessity).

It's cool to be playing Pokemon games that mirror, in a lot of ways, the ideas I'd had in that dream game document - right down to boss fights and battling things other than human trainers.

Late to the Party - SV and New Announcement Thoughts

Which I shall put below the cut for those who haven't seen the Pokemon Presents video yet.

A new Pokemon Legends game?! Set in Lumiose City? Featuring ZYGARDE?

...I'm impressed at how this franchise keeps yanking me back in. ¦D

Granted, I wouldn't have played Pokemon Scarlet if not for my niece's interest. And not because I didn't think it was a good (if a bit chuggy n buggy) game, but rather that my interest had waned and time to do all things is short. But my niece really wanted to, and I had wanted to try the local co-op play feature (it was something listed in my dream Pokemon game document after all), so we finally started our combined adventure in Paldea yesterday.

And this is what I'd hoped Sword and Shield to be like.

The local co-op is so fun! You can finally go on a journey with someone else (or three someones), and it makes the experience feel more alive somehow.

Shifting between travelling and battling is also pretty seamless, rather like Legends, which I wasn't expecting and appreciate. Love the new Pokemon Center/Mart/Connectivity stops. The photo mode is entertaining and primed for plenty of silliness.

We've not even got inside the school yet because there's so much to do just...exploring. Feels good. I pretty much got my dream Pokemon game(s) in the end.

I highly recommend checking out some of the other articles while you're at it - lots of familiar things to reminisce on for older fans, and plenty for more recent fans to discover. One of my favourites was a chat with a member of the sound team for the original Pokemon Snap.

I don't know how many of you have been following Project Voltage, but I found it interesting how ghost type trainer Miku had some glitchy elements to her design.

Particularly interesting because, in the Rebirth Universe, virtual Pokemon are just manmade ghost/ether Pokemon.

downloading my fics

printing my fics

copy/pasting or screenshotting my fics

sharing your saved copy of my fics with anyone else who might want them in the unlikely but never impossible case that my fics are no longer available on ao3

making a book of my fic(s) and running your fingers across the pages while lovingly whispering my precioussss

doing these things with anything I create for fandom, such as meta, headcanons, au nonsense like 'texts from the brodinsons,' etc

I am not fine with "the audience"

doing any of the above with the purpose/intent of plagiarizing my work or passing it off as their own in any capacity

feeding my work into ai for any reason whatsoever
