Infant Program

At Polka Dot Academy we promote a shared understanding of children as competent, capable and rich in potential. We set out broad goals for children and expectations for programs organized around the four foundations of belonging, well-being, engagement and expression, also describes pedagogical approaches to guide educators and administrators in considering how best to support children’s learning and development. Our unique full-day program offers a caring and stimulating environment designed to meet the individual needs of each child. Personalized schedules, feeding times and daily charting help each child to develop at their own pace.

Junior Pre-school  Program

Our Pre-K program prepares children for kindergarten by teaching foundational literacy and math skills. Children learn letter-sound relationships, sight word recognition and basic mathematical functions. We also provide a character education program to nurture important social and emotional skills such as listening, understanding feelings and resolving conflicts. The class has two hours of outdoor time to help burn some energy as well as develop those gross motor skills. In class, the children have a circle time where they read, sing, talk about letters, numbers, shapes & colours and much more! The juniors do participate in a mini phonics program as well as French and Mandarin bilingual classes to help prepare them for school entry.

Connect to our day care facility through a live and secure webcam stream from any device. Log in from your device at anytime and anywhere and you can watch your kid play or learn in action. This is a subscription based service that is offered to those parents who’s kids are enrolled in the daycare program. Restrictions apply.

Polka Dot Academy has developed a creative early childhood curriculum that incorporates Montessori educational principles with an exceptional level of care in a nurturing environment. Our daycare provides both play based and academic learning with highly trained teachers. Polka Dot staff provide a wide diversity of songs/finger rhymes along with other language activities for listening and learning.

At Polka-Dot-Academy our pre-school program promotes a balance of positive learning and playing to build a strong foundation for your child’s future development at the JK/SK level. We provide programs like, History which introduces children to the past, the present and the future of planet Earth, Canadian history, traditions of children’s ancestors, and Canadian Holiday’s. Language development includes reading and writing as the basic form of learning, as well as, music, circle time, puppet shows, stories and poetry. Reading is being taught in a form of phonogram booklets, phonetic cards and puzzle words.
