I don't understand why the adult shadow angels couldn't stop or even save Futaba.

They ALL knew he was a child. That he was the only child in the last 12,000 years. And they all saw that he went to Earth to have fun, + Toma knows full well how Aquarion is spreading battle Drones thin on Earth.

Futaba's death gave the right impetus for action because all the angels thought humans were that dumb, or they couldn't get into the New United Nations base?

(I like to think that Apolonius/Fudo went so far in his bullshit that he's also responsible for the death of the only angelic child UwU)

I'm pretty sure the adults had no idea where to find futaba to even get him back, no matter how much they wanted to. The kid was kidnapped deep into a military headquarters - and the angels cant even breach into DEAVA, they probably dont think theyd even be able to get him back even if they knew where he was. Not to mention the way futaba was killed like, the DAY he was captured.

They didnt stop futaba from going down and fucking with the humans bc they likely didnt think the humans could stop him much less capture him. Also... im pretty sure the adults actually werent aware he was even down there to begin with? P sure they warn him off fucking around too much. But he's a child and they dont wanna ruin his innocence too early by being too harsh.

No one who heard futaba's death cries was happy about it. Much as fudo is a manipulator i dont think he actively enjoys child death - esp an angel child, when he knows how rare that is.

Also I know I already said I hadn't watched EVOL but I did look some stuff up, and boy. That world building is SO influenced by Touma's traumas, especially by the ripples from OVA. And I'd suspect that Touma's supposed partial incarnation isn't purely made from Touma, going off his 4 colored wings that just so happen to match up perfectly to the color coding for all 4 people involved in the Final Genesis Fuckery.

Also yes, Pollon absolutely shouldn't be a sqeakytoy lapdog. Though admittedly from the teensy bit of flashbacks we get, it looks like (weirdly enough) human sized Angels is atypical. You see lots of little fairy looking things, but only a handful of human size or bigger Angels. Like it could be them saving on artwork costs and all, but it was one of the odd little things about the Angels that I noted.

Yeah! God i wish we had more lore on the angels cause theyre so weird and interesting and alien! Also, im glad u approve of my big-pollon propaganda XD ty ty

Honestly now I know about the Pollon thing there IS a lot of foreshadowing, but I think everyone else on the team bullying the director into dropping it was correct. Bc they refused to allow any real progression in anyone's relationships/character outside of "time to spiral for trauma/drama Sirius!", I felt the relationship between Apollo/Sylvia only had any believability thanks to Fated Romance (before side-eying the fact Sirius got no love for being a dude).

I mean reika got to have some good relationships with glen and tsugumi, and pierre learned to move on from his childhood friend to a potential future with chloe. Poor sirius did have so much drama, but i forgive him for that bc he had so much societal pressure placed on him and then all that got flipped on its head (ur so correct about his lack of relationships tho. One of my multiships for this show is absolutely sirius/apollo/toma). It fit with his character and moved the plot forward lol

I've never seen EVOL and frankly from what I hear that's a wise choice on my part. And yeah, the effect of the OVA on the universe's timelines is wack as all hell... But uh, I thought the more batshit bits was focused around Touma as usual. THEY LITERALLY SHOWED HIM AND HIS MECHA BECOMING PREGNANT, BEFORE HE HAD A VIOLENT MISCARRIAGE. God I nearly keeled right the fuck over, especially as the director kept proving he gave zero fucks about actually following through on the "threesomes are salvation" message they harped on. Apollo and Sylvia nearly obliterated existence because they were too into their inherited toxicity from Apollonius and Celiane, kicking Reika out of the merge and Touma righteously going ballistic (and saving everything in the process by his attempted murder.)

EVOL is.... not good. Mostly bc the main characters are nothing and no one and not worth their own show. BUT! THAT SAID! I absolutely LOVE the side characters. The side characters are the real reason to watch evol. They develop, they have interesting interactions with each other, they have actual emotions that arent just plot devices and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!! Like, yunoha and jin were such interesting characters they literally got to reincarnate in the crossover ova. Dont watch evol for amata or mikono - theyre not worth it. Watch for andy and mix and zessica and kagura and yunoha and jin and cayenne and shrade (absolutely 1000% gay those last two omfg) and the funny background character w a bag over her head for no explained reason.

Anyway YEAH @ THE OVA! WTF W THE PREGNANT TOMA?! LIKE I KNOW MPREG WAS ALWAYS PART OF AQUARION LORE BUT STILL???

Exactly about the Otoha bit, hence why I was going "?!?!?!" at the wiki. What do you MEAN there was something about a fruit of knowledge. When did Otoha have personal beef with Celiane that's not revolving around her being instrumental in the downfall of her race and the utter emotional gutting of Touma? I've decided to ignore it in self defense since they didn't give any citations on where they got that tidbit.

Honestly the storyline made more sense to me when he was just (somehow) the mysterious 3rd pilot who was with Apollonius and Celiane (as I hadn't seen the OVA until real recently, which. WTF. W-T-F.) but even then he was such a unrelenting dick. Getting your kicks out of fucking with your traumatized child soldiers and wasting everyone's time on shit that Doesn't Work bc it very much doesn't if these teamwork lessons don't stick around past 1 episode!!!

I think in the beginning apollonius was genuine about stuff - his feelings for toma, his feelings for celiane - and then somewhere along the way, probably during the war fighting for the humans, he realized he could (debatably, should?) manipulate events to get the results he wanted so that he ended up being the most powerful being in the universe and stringing everyone else along to play the game how he wanted. Except its not a game to them and they cant see his end-goal of unification and peace and whatever, so he hurts them over and over and lets them do it bc he doesnt care if they understand. All that matters is he understands. Ugh.

God i bet on some level he WANTED people to be tree food bc his machinates required the continued existence of the Angels and they needed it to live to continue to fight his war.

God yeah poor scorpius, poor toma and celiane, poor reika!! Bc that girl did NOT deserve the pain of her Misfortune powers :(

Also,sidenote lol, it shouldnt be surprising but i think them portraying pollon as just a little lapdog puppy is a mischaracterization and he shouldve been a sentient battle wolf bc all other angels are sentient creatures how come the guy who ends up as the main character is just a lil ouppy pubby?? I personally like the twist, it was soooo surprising but it was clearly what they were planning for since the beginning, and i love a well developed foreshadowing y'know?

On Otoha's page it claims she also hates Celiane for consuming the Fruit of Knowledge and there's NO citations for where that comes from.

Love finding an Apollonius hater, it's not easy to find Aquarion Genesis people let alone someone who also thinks that feathered fucker is the most toxic bitch. Touma, Celiane, and Scorpius all got the WORST romantic experiences of their fucking lives to the point that 12K+ years has not fixed the spiritual and emotional wounds ANY of them have.
