Patriots Sign Fanene  The Patriots made another solid but not splashy move, signing former Cincinnati Bengal DE Jonathan Fanene. Fanene is 29 and big; 6-4 292lbs. He played both DE and DT for the Bengals last season. That is a plus for the Patriots, who know he can be moved around the line and show multiple looks. He is a very capable defender, but one who isn’t going to be a star. He sacked the QB 6 times in 2011 and 2009, which means he does have the ability to get to the QB. So far this has been a very Patriots approach to free agency by the Patriots. Nothing splashy, add people who will contribute.
