A/A\A - POND HOLE’S First Show
We had an A*MAZING inaugural event on Saturday (6.11.16) -ANIMATE/ANIMUS\ANIMISM! Yes, friends POND HOLE Gallery is officially open!!!
Here is the photo album of the event: A\A/A
A* F*ing site inductive installation by Jimmy Bulosan and sounds by Lesley Gena, that made the ‘All American’ watering hole vibrate down to one’s guts!!! A* profound experience by Jimmy & Lesley that generated conversation ranging from community centric food rituals, clay as a conductive material, imperialism with a hint of capitalism, RHIZOMES of connectivity, the boundaries & limitation of identity, the aesthetics of meditation with a hint of Ralph Nader - just to name a few (transcripts of the conversation to follow shortly).
As the night rolled in…the POND HOLE glowed from the LED offerings (of chinese origins) while the gold plate communicated with the fireflies to send signals to the Mars rover and the meditation tent became a glowie glowie antenna housing cocoons of all our lulls and bells!
Yes, one could surmise it was an F*ing good show!

Summer is here and so is PONDHOLE Gallery
Our inaugural event is on Saturday, June 11th.
An art project by Jimmy Bulosan (One part of LION VS GORILLA) and sounds by Lesley Gena. This is a temporal event incorporating art objects, sounds,specific saliva inducing food and conversation all around an all American watering hole. Event starts at 6:00 pm with an artist talk at 7:00 pm and ending at 10:30 pm. Located at 2925 N Ridgeway, Chicago IL 60618 (BACKYARD). The artist talk and part of the event will be broadcast-ed at our youtube channel - For your viewing pleasure of an all american watering hole straight to your all american lap.

the project represents explorations of history, place, and self in liminal spaces using clay as an access point to deconstruct and develop expanding rhizomes. it serves as a representation of culture both transient and permanent. truths existing from passed tales of fact and fiction.
