Sun Loving Cosmos
The cosmos is my favorite backyard flower. For years it has attracted bees and butterflies to my backyard.But 2025 has been a different story—not many visitors so far. The loss of habitat due to neighborhood construction is partly to blame.

Yesterday, a northern house wren took up residence in a bird house I built three years ago. I’d given up hope that this specially designed wren house attached to my garage would be used. Mountain Runoff
While cameras are aimed at the major waterfalls like Yosemite and Bridal Veil, there are scores of snow melt falls “dribbling” down mountains that surround Yosemite Valley. They’ll be gone this summer, but for now they will help build up rivers and lakes in this National Park.
