Come on and JAM !
Let this be the official start of our participation in the global game jam. Even if qe're not actually doing the thing like we should, we're still going to spend the next 48 hours working on the game, hopefully managing to lay the fundations of a fun game.

Cubonator struggles with the unrealscript, but he has managed to make his first steps in the development environment.
Let's wish him luck

Progress is made
Well, since we got this operation up and running, we thought twilight should also get some healthy exercise.

  Ah, such youthfull energy.
We also had some models for changelings, who will help us test the game without all the characters actually done. It will help us save some time and allow us to test the development pipeline.

We also have a custom material for the courts' floor, meaning we can dynamically change the colour of the different parts and lines, change the logo and colour of the wood, depending of the location.
Woot.

Welcome to the JAM !
Greetings, and thank you for reading the PonyJam devlog.
The talented and brilliant Cubonator and I will try, and hopefully accomplish this basketball game based on the MLP:FiM franchise. It is inspired by the NBA Jam for the Super Nintendo console, and will allow the players to chose between several teams of two characters.
So if you ever wanted to see sonic rainboom slamdunks, well, you're in the right place.

We have decided to make this game for the UDK, and if things ever go wrong, we have planned to fallback on Unity 3D. The UDK has a steeper learning curve, but it's a skill we'd like to acquire
Bronze version (Minimal version) :
-One player, two teams
-One court
Silver version :
-Two players, three teams
-Three courts
-Stat system
Gold version (desired version):
-Four players, at least five teams, playable online
-Each team would have unique super powers
-At least four courts
The stat system would alter the pony properties, such as speed, hump height or accuracy.
Should we finish the gold version, and motivation isn't lacking, we plan to introduce even more teams to the fray.
That should be it for today, folks. We will continue to update you about this project, and one day we will open our "questions" box (because right now we don't have a lot to show) so that we may adress your questions about the project.
