Growing up as the weird, ugly kid that people would ask out as a joke, so later in life whenever u get a compliment it feels like it’s some joke, prank or something somebody says just because they feel bad for me/because they’re just nice.

I can’t even get a compliment from my best friend without thinking she just feels like she have to say it.
