sometimes i think about how many professional male athletes have to hide their sexuality because of how sport’s fan bases are. Like although general outlook on the lgbt community is different then it was years ago, the sports communities haven’t changed pretty much at all, there is still so much hate towards the lgbt communities, i would say it’s because most fans are men (and in my experience men tend to be less progressive, and in sports i would say traditional values are prevalent among fans)

Even looking at pride month post’s from sport’s pages are riddled with homophobia, and hate, some saying “god is king” and etc which refers back to my statement that they typically have traditional values. (american/christain values)

Or the endless comments about players like Jared Mccain, Karl Anthony Towns, Caleb William’s and even SGA (because of his fashion style) being “zesty” which is rooted in homophobia and a less harsh way of calling them “gay” just because they present themselves in a slight feminine way.

anywho i just wanted to rant about this cause i think about this a lot
