with fortunately convenient timing, the unnanounced narrative game company founded by former pb employees now has a name! candlelight games, led by none other andrew shvarts aka mr. blades himself (along with his brother daniel), megan schwarz (lead of tna, ame, ds, weh) and royal mcgraw (who headed the original hollywood u and then choices until 2021).

their first project is a fantasy story, so if the series ai acquisition and, most recently, the blades iii ai cover reveal upsets and disappoints you (which it should! fuck ai fr), i'd recommend taking a following to them as i have. i'm looking forward to what's to come!

Okay I never realized just how truly obnoxious the TRR MC actually was until I replayed #LoveHacks, whose MC shares faces with the TRR MC. This entire playthrough I was just waiting for the MC to be plucky and unserious and annoying and qUiRkY and I had to keep unbracing myself because the #LoveHacks MC, while flawed, is actually rather well-adjusted and mature, whereas the TRR MC will interrupt a ceremony to call the crown regent a big meany bad man, name a boat christened in her daughter’s honor “Boaty McBoatface”, and obsess over fancy hats for seven whole books + a holiday special.

EDUCATION & CAREER. graduated from hartfeld with a bachelor's in communications and moved to new york to pursue a master's in journalism. landed an internship with a mid-size newspaper and became a full-time employee after graduating. worked her way up to investigative journalism. has made a name for herself in the field over the years, boasting a handful of awards and the respect of her colleagues—although, this success comes mostly at the expense of her personal life.

PERSONALITY. quiet, brusque, and straight to the point, dina has always leaned a bit more masculine than feminine. although she doesn't talk much, her brain is constantly moving, and when action is needed, she's more than ready to jump into the fight. functioning on gut feeling and careful rationale, dina has always prided herself on her intelligence and initiative. however, she can also be critical, arrogant, and needlessly combative—though of course, these are only skills that help in her career. (right?)

GRANT EMERSON. met him at the rehearsal and immediately developed a deep respect for him. appreciates his work ethic and strong sense of values; thinks he might be a bit too naive at times, but values him as a close and well-respected acquaintance.

KATE O'MALLEY. developed an intense crush on her in college. spent a lot of time trying to deny it, since she always felt that kate would never look at her that way, but coming back for the wedding has brought all the feelings back. still deeply cares for kate and struggling to move on.

FLYNN O'MALLEY. disliked him when they first met (thought he was too impulsive and didn't think things through), but since they've been investigating kate, she's come to respect him as a dedicated partner-in-crime. slowly developing a brother like relationship.

NAOMI SILVERHAWK. has a deep mutual respect for her. quickly developing feelings, but unsure of how to navigate them, as she's working through the dregs of her crush on kate and a life spent mostly devaluing romantic interaction. still, feels like naomi grounds her in a way that no one else does.

choices murder mystery where you are the murderer and the side characters + love interests have to figure out who killed the victim, and there could be 2-3 different endings depending on how good you are at hiding clues
