i am. so tired of people acting like the internet is made for kids, or is in any way kid-friendly, bc it’s just not. are there sites that are more catered to kids? yes, but that does not make the entire internet *for* kids.

social media sites in particular are not for children. just because an app says “13+” does not mean that A) 13 yr olds should be on the app, or B) that you suddenly don’t have to monitor your kids online experience, or block/filter certain things.

i’m also tired of pretending that the “you can look up anything on google and find explicit content” is a valid argument bc that has nothing to do with the creators of the content, but everything to do with the algorithm (and i’m tired of ppl acting like safe search doesn’t work. half of the time it censors perfectly normal content).

just. watch your damn kids on the internet. it ain’t my responsibility to do it for you, and i’m so over nsfw artists being blamed for, god forbid, putting what they want on their own pages.

I’m sure someones already said this but I often see Tumblr described as a hellsite. This is fundamentally incorrect.

Tumblr is the faesite. Everybody is super confused and lost, you keep running into random places. Somehow you end up stuck there forever after interacting a couple of times. The people are all strange, everybody simultaneously seems to be from the future and the past as if time is meaningless.

A system is a collection of alters. Alters are chronically dissociated self states, with different neurological pathways that often are accompanied by a varying degree of amnesia. Dissociation is caused by stress/trauma. Alters are a byproduct of dissociating from trauma. You can’t dissociate from trauma you do not have. You cannot dissociate without trauma. You cannot have alters without trauma. You cannot have a system without alters.

You cannot be a system without trauma.

Do you have to know about the trauma ? No. Does it have to be a certain type of trauma ? No. Does it need to be a certain severity ? No. It just needs to have occurred during critical developmental period of the brain. Before the ego states have stitched together, it must be chronic, and beyond the child’s stress threshold, otherwise it will not disrupt the developmental growth. This is different for everyone. The reason trauma cannot be listed as a diagnostic criteria, is because there is no “xyz trauma that causes dissociative disorders”. It’s completely unique to each person suffering from the disorder. And in often cases, the person suffering from the disorder isn’t aware of their trauma. That’s the point of the disorder. This does not mean you don’t need trauma to suffer from a dissociative disorder. Systems are byproducts of dissociative disorders, you cannot be a byproduct of a disorder you do not have.

Endos are not systems. What do I mean by this? I mean that, by definition, that term is not suited for them, and is not meant to describe them. Just like kinning doesn’t mean you’re a system, just like roleplaying doesn’t mean you’re a system, just like religious practises such as tulpamancy isn’t a system. You are perfectly free to do whatever you please, truly. But do not compare it to being a system. You do not share our experiences. You are a different community entirely, and that’s ok.

But please, for the love of god, stop invading our community, and stop spreading misinformation about an already stigmatised and misunderstood disorder.

I understand if you didn’t know better. But please, educate yourself, and stop spreading this misinformation. Being a system isn’t an identity. It’s not a label. And please, stop comparing it to being queer. This is a mental illness. Being queer is not a mental illness.

1) transandrophobia is not a reactionary term. It was created for us to talk about specific issues that trans men and transmascs face because our issues are often overlooked/dismissed. There are specific issues faced by us that aren’t covered by a general term of transphobia, the same way transmisogny is for trans women and transfems to talk about their specific issues. Transmisogny and transandrophobia as terms can (and should) coexist

2) I’m so sick of people acting like t4t was just transfem 4 transfems. The attempt at gatekeeping it is so fucking odd and weird. It’s always been about trans 4 trans not specifically transfems. Stop trying to divide us

3) forcemasc as we know it was absolutely created by transmascs be fucking fr right now. People like this are the same people who make those posts shitting on forcemasc and acting like forcefem is superior as if being forcibly feminized isn’t traumatic for trans men in a similar way that being forcibly masculinized is traumatic for transfems. I don’t know to explain to you that your experience of gender is not universal. Just bc you don’t think forcefem could be traumatic it’s like no shit you’re transfem and forcefem makes you feel good. So why wouldn’t it be the same way for transmascs? You need to stop acting like masculinity is inherently oppressive and no one could ever find joy in being masculinized

Y’all just don’t want trans guys to have shit. That’s really what it is. At the end of the day, trans culture as a whole is often shared. Sometimes things like the Blahaj that may start being used by transfems may have some trans guys who are into it as well. It also goes the other way? Trans men do not benefit from patriarchy. This is exactly why you’re getting shit over this take. The patriarchy hates trans men and constantly tries to detransition us. What about trans men who don’t pass? Do they really benefit from male privilege?

Even stealth trans men do not benefit from patriarchy as their ‘privilege’ is contingent on no one knowing they’re trans. The second people know, that goes out the window. Not ONLY that, but stealth trans men face issues as well, such as access to reproductive healthcare. And like we’ve said multiple times: you’re leaving out men of color in this conversation. It’s such a white take which makes sense bc you’re white but it’s extremely ignorant. All men are not equal under the patriarchy, and not living up to the idea of what a man is has severe consequences for those who don’t. I seriously implore you to listen to especially black trans men on this topic. Black masculinity is very demonized under the patriarchy.

Instead of lecturing to trans men on how oppressed we aren’t, try to learn something and stop hiding behind “I’m just saying what trans women say”. Guess what? Trans women are not immune from having bad takes or parroting radfem talking points.
