“𝐈𝐓'𝐒 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐄𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔, 𝐁𝐀𝐁𝐄.” sometimes it’s hard to tell when it’s the mother or whether it’s annabelle herself speaking through her lips but this has to be the mother – there’s no reason annabelle would be happy to see sasha, after she’d gone through so much effort to distance herself, out of fear of what the mother might – what annabelle might do to her.

maybe she has no reason to fear, though. sasha is incredibly powerful, in this brave new world. annabelle’s heard about the destruction, the annihilation that the archivist is causing. she’s impressed. she’s a little turned on.

annabelle drums her fingers (too long, too many-jointed) against the wall, nails making a hollow clicking sound.

“are you lost, or just looking for a friendly face?”

        ‘ i’ll take whatever i can get. ‘ her voice was weak, raspy with disuse and sounding just on the brink of exhausted tears. she’d caused the apocalypse on her own and she had no one to blame but herself. and the walk was so unbearably lonely it was like being trapped on the foggy beach again with her failure to save yet another friend.

          sighing, she rubbed the grime from her face, in some attempt to just feel clean. her kill list had been fairly reserved to the creatures of the stranger that had made her life and tim’s hell ( tim would hate this world. all the never ending-ness of it. ) and though she hadn’t used her hands to do it, their lives clung onto her like a foul stench. ‘ are there any showers in this apocalypse? i spent ages trudging through death swamps. ‘
