I love it when people tell vegans that we need to “listen to their side of the argument.” As if we didn’t used to believe the exact same thing they do, as if “their side of the argument” doesn’t have billions of dollars worth of propaganda behind it, as if it isn’t the dominant ideology pretty much everywhere. We know your arguments, we’ve heard them before and probably even used them ourselves. It’s our side which people don’t get to hear, because everytime we speak up to give voice to it we’re slapped with that “preachy vegan” stereotype and told to stay silent.
