Post-Clans: Roles

The Post-Clans have all of the same roles as the original Clans, but they also have some additional ones. Additionally, each Clan has two unique roles that are specific only to it.

General Roles

Leader: the nine-lived leader of the Clan

Deputy: the second-in-command to the leader

Senior Medicine Cat: the oldest, and therefore head, medicine cat

Junior Medicine Cat(s): the younger medicine cats

Apprentices: cats in training for any given role

Warriors: cats trained to hunt and fight

Diplomats: cats who visit other Clans daily to exchange news

Queens: cats expecting or nursing kits

Caregivers: permanent queens

Elders: retired cats

Mediators: cats who resolve conflicts within their Clan and between Clans

Clan-Specific Roles

RainClan

Watchers: cats who are trained to predict the weather

Builders: cats who build dams and the like to control the flow of the river

GaleClan

Tunnelers: cats whose job it is to dig tunnels beneath the moors (shoutout to old WindClan)

Scouts: cats who keep watch for Twoleg and other outsider activity and report back to messengers

SunClan

Gardener: a cat who tends to a massive herb garden on SunClan territory that is available to all Clans

Crafter: a cat who makes things like accessories and tools for the Clans

NightClan

Commander: the Clan's best fighter, responsible for organizing battles and strategizing

Trackers: cats whose job it is to find and track dangerous animals like foxes, badgers, and alligators, as NightClan's territory is perilous

JewelClan

Seer: a cat who spends all their time in the Moonstone cave acting as a 24/7 messenger/conduit for StarClan

Explorers: cats who explore the outer reaches of the caverns and report back on findings, potential cave-ins, and the like

RidgeClan

Outlookers: cats who keep watch at the highest points of the territory for large birds and other mountain dangers

Keepers: usually old cats/elders who keep lore and history for all the Clans

History of the Post-Clans

The Post-Clans are a fan-Clan/AU of Warrior Cats based around a universe in which an offshoot group of cats from the lake territories left the lake to return to the forest territories. I have purposely kept it unclear exactly what caused their exodus, but I usually imagine it to be the result of a conflict between the lake Clans.

A group of cats, made up of a handful of warriors from each of the five Clans, left the lake territories on a journey to return to the forest territories. When they arrived, they found out that the Twoleg invasion that had driven the original Clans out of the territory had been abandoned. The Twolegs had begun to build their nests on what had been WindClan territory, but they built one of their nests right over one of the moor’s tunnels, which caved in and collapsed the nest. Deeming the land unsafe, the Twolegs gave up their project, leaving the territory alone. Now, two abandoned Twoleg nests lie on the moor, one of which is fully built but abandoned, and the other completely collapsed into the tunnel cave-in.

The damage that the Twolegs and their monsters did to the territories cannot be undone, but in the years since the Clan cats first left, the forest has begun to recover. Fourtrees was completely uprooted along with the Great Rock, but a new tree has begun to grow from where they once stood. The Post-Clan cats call it the Great Tree, and believe it to be a descendant of the now-gone Fourtrees. Right now, it is still a small tree, but it is large enough for the Clan leaders to use it for Gatherings.

Also during the time after the original Clan cats left the forest, StarClan spoke to a kittypet descended from the Clan cats, and urged him to found a new Clan. Made up of recruited kittypets and loners, this new Clan, JewelClan, makes its home in the vast cave system connected to the Moonstone cave. They hunt deep in the caverns and share with StarClan at the Moonstone, even in the several years where they were the only Clan living there. When the Post-Clans came back, JewelClan was accepted as the official sixth Post-Clan. They gave up the Moonstone cave as neutral territory, but they still occupy the rest of the cave system connected to it.

When the refugee cats from the lake Clans found their way back to the forest territories, they decided that while they were still Clan cats, they did not want to try and re-create the Clans they had come from. Because ThunderClan, ShadowClan, RiverClan, WindClan, and SkyClan still existed, out of respect for them the refugee cats decided to found their own new Clans.

The former ThunderClan cats took up the forest territory of the old ThunderClan, calling themselves SunClan. The former ShadowClan cats moved into the swamp territory of the old ShadowClan, calling themselves NightClan. The former RiverClan cats claimed the riverland territory of the old RiverClan, calling themselves RainClan. The former WindClan cats made their home in the moorland territory of the old WindClan, calling themselves GaleClan. The former SkyClan cats decided to make their territory in the rocky foothills and gorges outside of the Moonstone cave and JewelClan territory, a piece of land not unlike the gorge that SkyClan once lived in. They called their new Clan RidgeClan.

These five Clans along with JewelClan make up the Post-Clans, which operate under a similar code and traditions as the original Clans, though with some notable differences. The Post-Clans coexist in the same time as the original Clans, but have no active contact with them.

The Post-Clans

A Warrior Cats AU/fan creation!

Welcome to the Post-Clans, a silly little warrior cats fan thing I made up and felt like sharing! This is sort of an AU, sort of a completely new concept.

The Premise

The Post-Clans started at an unspecified time a little while after SkyClan settled by the lake. The basic idea is that many years after the Great Journey, small groups of cats from each of the main five Clans decided to go back to the old territories and resettle there. I imagine they were fleeing some kind of conflict in the Clans, but I haven't really decided or specified what that was lol.

When they returned to the forest territories, they found that the Twoleg takeover had apparently been cancelled. It appeared that the Twolegs attempted to start building a new Twolegplace on the old Clan territories, but the operation had to be abandoned when the land they were building on on the moor collapsed into one of the tunnels, which the Twolegs had apparently not known about. Two of their half-built dens still stand on WindClan territory--one completely sunken in, the other half standing but unused.

When they got there, the five Clans separated and founded their own new Clans based on their old territories (for the most part). However, out of respect for the Clans they came from, they chose different names and started anew.

The Clans

SunClan: Clan of the former ThunderClan cats. Territory: ThunderClan's forest territory.

RainClan: Clan of the former RiverClan cats. Territory: RiverClan's forest territory.

NightClan: Clan of the former ShadowClan cats. Territory: ShadowClan's forest territory.

RidgeClan: Clan of the fomer SkyClan cats. Territory: The rocky foothills and cliffs near Highstones.

GaleClan: Clan of the former WindClan cats. Territory: WindClan's forest territory.

JewelClan: A Clan started by kittypets very soon after the Clans left for the Great Journey, now accepted as the sixth Post-Clan. Territory: The dark, expansive cave systems connected to the Moonstone cave.
