Would love to know how the Chantry plans to explain their Herald of Andraste disappearing into the Fade with an ancient elven god. But alas, is not to be.

You've been the (un)willing host of a time-traveling knight who somehow ended up in your modern times. Since the fateful encounter he's become rather possessive of your company, yet today seems to be especially bad.
You eye the straw doll with increasing suspicion. As you make your way to the bedroom, you notice the discarded, crumpled scrolls littering the floor. You can't decipher the old writing.
"What's the meaning of this," you demand, stomping towards the massive, armored man.
"I have drafted a will," he confesses theatrically. "My time here is scarce."
"You don't even own anything here. Have you found a way to return?" your voice has a tint of hope to it; could it be that you'll soon have your peace back?
Oh, sweet, innocent (Y/N)! His door only leads to the cruel afterlife. He's been feverish all night, and his throat tightens with each whisper. He's all too familiar with the signs: a deadly disease. Worry not, he'll be departing with a clean conscience. He glances at the clumsily improvised doll - a curse he's learned from an old hag many years ago - and smiles faintly. No other man or woman will ever dare to yearn for you.
He jolts at the unexpected touch of your hand, resting against his hot forehead.
"Ah, you probably have a cold. I'll get you some decongestant from the pharmacy."
Huh?
"Wait, did you...did you think you're dying?"

i am in control of my emotions
it does not bother me when someone is in the kitchen while i was planning to be in there alone
everyone in the house has the right to be in the kitchen
i am kind and in control of my emotions even when someone is in the kitchen while i was planning to be in there alone

If we think about Dragon Age 2 through the lens of it being told by Varric then maybe it makes sense you can't romance him, because even if you did, that'd be the one story he wouldn't want to tell the world, especially not in an interrogation.
But if you fuck everyone else? That's the worlds business now.

I still think about how cute and awkward it was when Emmrich introduces Rook to his parents. No matter what background you choose, he just… does it. He speaks to them so openly, expecting Rook to understand and be okay with it.
As a player, I remember thinking, ‘Oh, he’s a little awkward, but it’s sweet, and clearly, he’s grieving.’
But then on a second playthrough, you realize… Emmrich has never met Varric. And yet Rook talks to Varric constantly in his “room.” They mention him in passing like Emmrich is fully aware of his existence.
The way I, the player, felt watching Emmrich introduce us to his dead parents for the first time…. is exactly how Emmrich felt the first time he saw Rook talking to and about Varric.
Emmrich can literally speak to the dead, but he chose to ‘talk’ to his parents the same way Rook does with Varric. He wanted to show them that even with his ability he still speaks to the dead the way they do. 🥹

So funny that Emmrich, Emmrich of all people, got scammed while buying magic items in Minrathous, so he decides to take the law into his own hands, and...
... he proceeds to haunt the shit out of the scammer while pretending to know nothing about it.

Matt Rhodes posted the final concept art of the Black Codex. But the most interesting thing is the notes that go with it.

The false gods decide to release the full power of the titan souls, which have become twisted with madness in their captivity. Solas tries to stop them.

Unable to stop them, Solas instead creates a Veil between the physical world and the magical. He binds the Veil to the blood of the false gods, turning them into the locks on their own prison.

Early humans discover the ruins of the elven empire. Using knowledge scavenged from the ruins, Tevinter spreads across Thedas as a crude copy of the elven empire.

From their prison in the Veil, the spirits of the titans lure power-hungry Tevinter magisters into the Fade to release them. Instead of a city of gold, they find a Black City. The first Blight is released.
So the magisters were originally lured to the Black City not by the evanuris, but by the spirits of titans?
Because this version is different from what Solas told Rook.

Still occasionally thinking about the Rook origin stories for Thornes and Mercars, where it's not so much Varric spotting talent and initiative in this random person he's come across who kind of got inadvertently caught up in a bad situation and needs to lay low for a while, but Varric seeing some low ranking nobody turn around and give the direct orders they just received a double-middle-finger-salute, and thinking: "Yup. That's the one."
