You had always been a touchy person, in the sense that, well, your love language has always been physical touch. Maybe that's why you and Phoenix had always got along so well, it was always something, if you weren't within arms reach of each other it was only a matter of time until you two were practically trying to mold into each others bodies. It was really quite something, whenever you two sat down it's like your bodies were made for each other, fitting together like puzzle pieces.

It was a lazy Saturday morning at HQ and you and Phoenix had found each others embrace. Phoenix of course was spread across the length of the couch and well he was practically begging for some company. Jamie was absolutely engrossed in his own story telling, petting your hair and keeping a warm hand on your waist to hold you close. He just barley noticed when you stopped responding with small reactions like "mhhm" or "that's nice" He smiles fondly down at your sleeping figure, bringing you closer to him as he continued to quietly play with your hair.

Words would never be enough for Jamie, they would always fail him when it comes to you, your laughter, the sound of your voice, that mischievous glint in your eyes whenever you came up with a silly prank. Jamie loved every bit of you, and seeing you here, trusting that he would hold you close. Well, there's not a fire in the world that could melt his heart the way you do.

On the battle field it can be a rather hectic place, especially when you're running frantic trying to defuse a bomb that threatens to unearth the very ground you stand on. You were the polar opposite to your lover Pheonix, or rather- Jamie as you called him, But not now, this was battle, you had call-signs for a reason. To keep you safe.

Like your lover you too were a Radiant, cursed by the Raidionite to be one with the cold and ice. Yoru had found you in the snows of Ice-Box when he went to go retrieve his armor, since then you've had a sibling-like relationship; you weren't complaining though, he could be kind when he wanted to--that wasn't often though.

Now you were back on the costal area that the protocol had dubbed "Haven," You were standing gaurd on C-Site with an Operator and Pheonix when you saw what you were dreading to see. The enemy. It was strange, they really did mean it when they called it 'Mirror Earth.' Without thinking you fired a shot that rung through your ears, hitting the enemy Sage in her lower abdomen. You froze. You were trained to kill and yet- "FROST-" Pheonix who was by your side shoved you out of the way with burning hands as a shot rang out--a shot that surely had hit you had Pheonix not been there. Though through the adrenaline his hands had left a burn mark, nothing to severe, but when the contact had been made you let out a small yelp. Pheonix quickly shot up a wall and with his still burning hands he scooped you up and moved you behind a wall, he could feel your heart racing. He spotted the burn marks quickly and shook the worry away as best he could and looked into your eyes; "I'm so sorry- Y/n- Frost-" He was cut off by the shot of more shots ringing out, your team had arrived, thank god, Jett and Yoru were now on site with you and Skye was on the way. "Frost, are you okay?" Yoru's voice played through your com and you nodded to yourself before replying with a shaky: "Y..yeah.." You took a breath, trying to get a hold of yourself "Alright let's finish this," ~ Time Skip ~ The battle ended successfully and the Mirror agents had run off back to their mirror world, as you all piled into the transport you noticed that Jamie was uncharacteristically quiet. "Jamie..? You doing okay? You're not hurt right-?" You asked, the anxiety in your voice peaking at the thought that Jamie could be hurt and you didn't notice- "Oh- nonono-! A/N: You don't need to work all the time to have value. Take a break every once in a while and treat yourself.

Depending on how late you stay up Jinx might try to convince you to come to bed early. She really misses you and she likes to cuddle a whole lot so you better not overwork yourself. If there's anything that she can do to help you finish work faster she'll do it, even if it's just getting you snacks or drinks. Will occasionally bend down and kiss you on the cheek for good luck. When you do finally finish work she will wrap herself around you and tell you not to get up from the bed until the next day, it's time to sleep, you've more than earned it.

"Workin' still sugar? How much longer till you're done? That long?! You're really set on finishing this huh? Can I do something for you then? I don't know, can I get you anything you need? How about a kiss then? Oh now I have your attention, I see how it is. Lean in then."

Silco understands the need to finish work, even if that means overworking yourself, it's what he did for a long time, especially since he became a father. That being said he also sees the value of keeping things organized and scheduled. If he sees that you're working way too much and not taking time for yourself he will offer to help you organize your day better so you have time to rest and spend time on yourself, and of course spend some more time with him.

"Darling you're working a bit too much lately don't you think? I understand how you feel, but it's not good for your health. Come on, finish this and then I'm taking you to bed. Viktor is no stranger to staying up late to finish work. Although he's not used to being on the other side of that. Seeing how tired you get makes him reflect on his own behavior and how worried you must be when you see him looking as tired as you do now. "Let me help you love" Sage x Reader

You were not one to ask for help, or accept it when it was offered. As a child you were praised for this trait, people would tell you how strong or tough you were because of it. And while this wasn't done with any malicious intent it still had a negative affect on your life to this day.

You were a Radiant, with an ability you called "blood-bending." The name alone being fairly self explanatory you could manipulate the blood of yourself and other creatures. You tried not to use your own blood... though... you didn't always have other options.

Lately you haven't had other options.

You were dedicated to the protocol, already having accepted that each mission you took could very well be your last. This, along with your refusal for help led to a lot of.. well.. you refusing to accept the help of your fellow healers.

At first you were able to pass it off as needing easy access to your own blood, and most of the time it works, even if they don't like you exerting yourself like this.

It was another long mission, you were engaging enemies on a map dubbed Haven, it was a grueling mission and another instance where you'd been forced to use your own blood to fuel your abilities. It was a long.. very long.. and very hard battle.

Though your victory was ever more satisfying.

Sage was checking in with everyone over the coms as you all headed back to the rendezvous point.

"(Y/N)..? you're awfully silent, are you okay?" Sage's voice rang through your earpiece and the deadly projectile you made of your own blood changed from a hard object to liquid as you released your focus from it; the blood splattering down onto the ground and making your uniform stain red.

"I'm..." You struggled to speak through the dizziness in your head "I'm fine Sage... really.."

Sage did not believe you and unbeknownst to you while she had the others make their way back onto the ship she went out to your location, meeting you half way to the pick up spot.

You'd wrapped a crude bandage around your arm where you'd drawn your own blood but it was hard to do even a half decent job when the pounding in your skull was all you could think about.

Sage's pace quickened as she spotted you "Oh my darling.." She cupped your cheek, worry flooding her tone "I can patch you up, let's get back to the ship"

"It's okay.." You heaved, each breath feeling like a task to complete "I..- I can do it myself,, you look tired... don't waste your energy on me... I ca...." Your voice faded, trialing off and you fought for consciousness. "I can do it... do it...." Your head was spinning, and the spinning soon morphed into darkness as blood loss and exhaustion took over.

Sage caught you in her arms, more worried now than ever before, she called for Sova to come help carry you--she knew she could carry you herself--however--not while trying to heal you at the same time.

Sova arrived quickly a concerned look on his face as he saw the state you were in "Again...? It's getting bad Sage.. you must talk with them.."

Sage sighed, nodding a small nod. Sage was fixing the bandage on your arm and patching up the major cuts on your body before simply healing the smaller ones; cyan fog emitting from her hand as she used her gift to help you.

The next time you awoke it was in the infirmary of the Protocol's home base. Sage was by your side when consciousness finally returned to you, "...mmph.." You managed to pull yourself up into a sitting position, the sound of movement alerting Sage that you were awake "..shit...I'm sorry Ling- you shouldn't have to-"

You were quickly cut off with a soft kiss from your lover, a quick and loving kiss, though one that did the job Ling needed it to.

"Don't ever apologize for needing help, it's okay my love.. let me help you, let Skye help you.. I could've lost you-" Her voice began to break, as she cupped your face, tears pricking her eyes, "You may be okay with death but It's my job to keep you alive. My love.. I need you.. and I need you alive.. please... why do you refuse my aid?"

The desperation in her tone.. in her eyes.. it was a look you couldn't stand to see and as the tears began to roll down her face you felt them in your eyes as well

"I just..- I.." "I don't wanna burden you- waste your energy- it should go to anyone other than me... gods know I don't deserve it.."

You'd never admitted that to anyone before.. it felt.. nice... to get it off your chest.

Ling's expression shifted to one of grim determination, "My love.. my darling, my starlight, you are far from a burden. The tears rolled down your face and you pulled Ling closer to you in a warm and loving embrace,, "oh'kay... for you.... thank you.."
