I don’t know what this means for psychology but I work in jewelry and whenever I work with little girls the most important question they ask is about cost. Usually before they even pick something to try on from the case they ask about price. Boys typically take pictures and ask their friends for opinions. Idk.

“You can’t live for your pets” ok watch me. My dog makes me excited to go to bed in spite of my nightmares because of his top teir morning cuddles. Avoiding words like bad and not yelling fuck everytime I do something wrong has changed how I speak to myself. It’s not on shit I fucked up when I drop something, it’s just an oopsie. Getting up to refill my water? It’s a team effort. Doing laundry and dishes? I’ve got a body double. Overstimulated? I turn off all unnatural noise and hold him. He’s an 80 pound Doberman, and the biggest baby. He changed my life and it’s ok for them to change yours too.

Growing up and being called auntie for the first time… goddamn, that shit hits. My partners friend had babies and referred to me as an auntie and if I think about it for to long I feel like I’m gonna cry 😂

I will never understand people who have the means and don’t take the worlds best care of their pets. You chose to bring this living creature into your home for what? To ignore? My partner and I live basically paycheck to paycheck, waiting every week to buy groceries until our payments hit. My dog grabbed a rodent and we were up to the vet within the hour, $500. He’s my whole world, and there’s not a loan I wouldn’t take and a law I wouldn’t break to make sure he’s taken care of. You chose them, and if you can’t reciprocate the unconditional love of an animal you don’t deserve them.

To the stranger on the train who prayed for my mom and babiest siblings health during their high risk pregnancy, I still think about you. My sibling will four this year. We almost lost them both during the birth and I truly believe your words and energy put into the universe helped the situation. I hope you’re well. I hope the ride from Texas to Chicago yielded good pizza during your weekend. I hope you’re retired and no longer stuck traveling for a military that didn’t care about you when you needed it. I hope your family is well. I’m not sure if you remember me, but I will fight my own mind to remember you.

I’ll never forget the one time I asked a coworker for help in front of a guest, with a line, and she threw her phone and said nope. The guest and I went 😮😮 next day I had to explain to the manager cause wtf and our next shift together she was yelling at me about going to the manager and saying she’s not very approachable and she asked if I seriously told the manager that and I asked if she seriously felt approachable rn 😂😂

My favorite thing in the world is the way little kids implement knowledge. My babiest sibling, three years old, yelled at me to turn the water off, then shook their finger at me and said “we don’t waste water”. I once told them you have to let mama brush your hair because it keeps your head from getting itchy. About a week later I was scratching my head and they said I need to brush my hair. We went to a nail salon and I told them that the easiest way to hold your feet still is by focusing on touching your first finger to your thumb. I go to the bathroom ten minutes later and when I come out they’re opening and closing their whole hand 😂😂 my middlest baby sibling used Be-Dough as a substitute for any word they didn’t know. We still don’t know where it came from. Directions, objects, foods, anything 😂 we do know where the name gutgall for ketchup came from tho, as it’s the sound it makes when you shake it towards the lid. I absolutely love it

I feel like every once in a while I have to remind people that the only reason I bought my house at 20 is privilege, much like everyone else who is in my position at my age. Yeah, I did work overtime as a minor to save, but I was in virtual school for a year before covid started anyway. And my job worked me illegally to give me those hours, and my parents drove me there. Sure i, and probably a majority of other people, earned every dollar with our own work, but it was a privilege to be in a position that enabled me to do so. Everything just so happened to be exactly the way it needed to for me to be here today

Behind every prissy, picky, needy dog is a ten times needier parent who will pick hairs from their dogs food. He’s just a baby. Have I made my own life harder? Perhaps. It is however 100% justifiable by the fact that I believe that if he had thumbs he’d do it for himself.

Art is political because the existence of art is political. Being protected by labor laws as an artist is a political stance. Having rights to your art is a political stance. Having the ability to create art in a world where we are worked to exhaustion, with hardly the energy to lift a pen is a political stance.

I love that there’s not a thing in this world that could make me resentful of my siblings. Do I hate swimming? Yes. Will I go every single time one of my siblings asks? Without a doubt. Did I spend over a thousand dollars on Christmas while driving my moms car after an accident, knowing I was going to have to buy one? Yes, and I’ll do it again next year if I need to. Of course my arms hurt mom, and I know I’m the oldest sibling, but no I do not have a say here, I am just the carrier/airplane noise maker.

In case anyone was wondering what representation means to people, I started crying half way through captain america brave new world and didn’t stop. The ladies spent their entire on screen time in real gear, not sex appeal gear 😭 there was a badass fighting in a suit, it wasn’t even low cut. We are more than our bodies and we’re finally being valued beyond a screen positioning that favors our tits over our face

How is it that we (white Americans) literally grew so much corn that we destroyed our (Native American) land so badly that a fungus had to be invented (by black Americans, who struggled the most off the land we, white people, destroyed by not listening to the natives) to heal it and yet the Irish are made fun of for loving potatoes so much they starved when that was also our (white Europeans) fault?
