I think I read in one of the ask that the critters could communicate with each other then Kabuto does the "Grandmother said this..."?? When Hoeru freshly returned to earth, just eighteen and made to fight. He spent so long trying to survive, unable to cling to a hope or a wish. The subconscious thought of it finally being over when he returns home.

Only to get home. And well, there's nothing left for him there.

Hoeru thought he was lonely in the no one world, often the only human being he'd see in long stretches of time were his own reflections in the too shiny glass.

Now he's home. Or well, it isn't really his home anymore, is it? At this point he spent more time there.

But hes back on Earth and he surrounded by human beings, other people. And Hoeru can't help but feel.. Lonelier than ever.

Those two years of in between did a number to Hoeru's already hardened heart. There are more difficult things to try and survive here than he ever had over there.

And he's somehow never felt more alone.
