era notes.
the release of a love song by PRDX for valentine's day for ENDGAME marked a surprising departure from their usual schedule. however, this unexpected move stirred up controversy on twitter as fans of PRDX clashed with those of STUPID CUPID (STCP), known as CHERUBS. the dispute arose from the fact that PRDX was "permitted" to release a love song for valentine's day, while STUPID CUPID's planned valentine's album faced a delay. this disagreement highlighted the fervent loyalty and competitive spirit between the two fandoms, sparking discussions and debates across social media platforms.
the song effortlessly racked up millions of views, a feat that hardly shocked their dedicated fandom. riding the wave of its popularity, a lively dance challenge emerged on tiktok, with the track being featured in countless videos. what made this challenge stand out was the enthusiastic participation of artists from various other companies and individuals closely connected to the members of PRDX. the collaborative and inclusive nature of the tiktok challenge not only propelled the song's momentum but also fostered a sense of friendship among the broader music community.
the heartfelt lyrics of 'SHOW ME LOVE' stirred speculation among fans, who believed that the song's writers, LIGHT and ADRIEN, might be in relationships, given the genuine and emotional nature of the words. however, rumours began circulating about LIGHT, suggesting he had gotten someone pregnant. swiftly addressing the gossip, LIGHT took to his social media, dismissing the claim with a straightforward "what a fucking lie" on one of his FANSYNC posts. meanwhile, ADRIEN chose a different approach, sharing an endearing selfie with his current girlfriend (relationship confirmed months ago), PLUM, accompanied by a caption that read, "happily in love <3 no one's cheating on anyone". these social media responses not only put an end to the speculations but also highlighted the artists' transparency in addressing personal matters directly with their fan base.
after finishing their short promotions for both songs, PRDX's MIKEY was announced as the new mc for inkigayo, a position that he now shares with WANDERLUST's WAY ( @paradiiseblu ).
DEBUTING ON SEPTEMBER 29TH, 2022, NAISU’s introduction to the public was one of equal parts allure and eeriness. promotion for her debut single ANYWHERE consisted of wrinkled posters plastered on walls and a seemingly abandoned youtube channel dating from 2018 depicting a love story from the perspective of the viewer—and respectively, the yearner behind the camera.
ANYWHERE would then be promoted for six weeks, showcasing stunning stages with mesmerizing visuals and interesting stage outfits. the debut single would achieve a total of six music show wins, including an inkigayo triple crown. keeping her aura of mystique, not much about her was known aside from her stage name and her entrancing stage presence, causing her popularity to skyrocket after each performance.
riding the success of her debut, it wasn’t long until an ep was released titled HUSH HUSH, following her melancholic theme. released early december, it was quickly circulated for it’s strange pop-centered sound, with elements of alternative pop in its title track FIRE OF SECRETS to BITTERSWEET, a b-side that gained massive popularity to its boa-esque sound. promoted for a startlingly short time of just two and a half weeks, HUSH HUSH would received just three wins. MOONSUS and new fans alike were shocked at the decline in her wins, believing NAISU had been cheated by both rigged showcases and her company.
she would disappear from the spotlight for a few months after that, fans only getting snippets from her sparse social media presence and scouring the discarded youtube channel for new updates. then, unexpectedly, a single was dropped in march of 2023 title IN ANOTHER LIFE featuring fellow label mate PARADOX INVASION’s ADRIEN. spinning a horrid tale of love, death, and bare skinned truth in front of a lover who blurs between impassive and not there, NAISU marked her entrance into the new year with her familiar yet uncanny sound, this time with a more hyperpop-esque sound that quickly made its rounds on social media, namely tik tok. her collaboration with ADRIEN only pushed her name out even more, especially when it was made public that she had writing credits to varying degrees for every song released under her name up to date. it soon lead to fans wondering if the lyrics were written from personal experiences, leading for even more curious eyes peering at her.
soon after, her first mini album MASQUERADE was released in july with a title track of the same name, with IN ANOTHER LIFE listed as one of the songs, four of which full writing credits are given to her. promoted for six and a half weeks, MASQUERADE received a startling thirteen music show wins, leaving fans satisfied while others claimed the shows were rigged her favor to appease her almost cult-like following. a b-side titled UNDERWATER ( AWAKENED ) received special attention for its .. interesting lyrics, many claiming that the lyrics were too sensual ( despite just releasing a single with allusions to sex as an unhealthy coping mechanism … ), leading others to pick apart her discography to date to mule over the lyrics of the songs she’d claimed to have written. it’s then where speculations of her sexuality begin to rise in tune to her growing popularity.
as her discography grew, so did the uploads on that once sparse youtube channel. fans were ecstatic to see that her music and music videos had outside connections and lore, from MASQUERADE getting a upload titled FIND ME depicting a masked girl trapped in a funhouse mirror room, running into warped versions of herself until she meets a reflection of what looks like the artist herself, to UNDERWATER ( AWAKENED ) getting a short and soundless video titled BE AWAKE scenes switching between the same masked girl sitting in a tub fully clothed and NAISU herself floating underwater. a dedicated fan would take it upon themselves to string the music videos and channel uploads together, further revealing that they were all connected and telling a cohesive story of finding oneself—whether it be through real life or illusions of grandeur.
the second mini album would be released december of that year, following a theme she seemed to be setting for herself. ironically called DOLL, the title track PERFECT10N caused such an uproar, she was momentarily banned from performing the song for two weeks of the album’s five week promotion schedule. as a result of this, NAISU would then stubbornly perform b-sides DAHLIA and UNTOUCHABLE, causing fans to rally around her in support. streams for the album went through the roof, with the artist receiving her first three million streamed songs with the aforementioned songs, along with PERFECT10N and DAHLIA both reaching millions of views within hours of their respective music video drops.
as of now, NAISU still remains mostly shrouded in secrecy, an entity that seems to solely appear to release music and vanish before the public can get too close. her songs are still topic of heated discussion, especially her more sensual sounding ones, from most claiming they had to have been made from personal experiences to others thinking she must have been planted by overhead hands in the industry.
best known for being the first boy group under GLASSHOUSE, PARADOX INVASION ( 파라독스 인베이젼 ) – or PRDX ( 피아르디액스 ) – is a fictional seven-member group that debuted under the company in 2019. known as GLASSBOYS during their pre-debut era, the members ( YOHAN, DOHYUN, LIGHT, ADRIEN, DASHI, CHASE, and KOI ) would release a single, FROZEN NIGHT, seven months before their official debut in march the next year. despite releasing a great pre-debut track, PRDX upset many people for debuting with TO THE SKY, which fans call ‘THE MOST DISAPPOINTING DEBUT SONG EVER,’ most ignoring the song and pretending it never existed.
a year after their official debut, DOHYUN would abruptly leave the company, filing a lawsuit for negligence and mistreatment during his time as a member of the group. it would take another year of battling and PRDX going on hiatus for most of it before GLASSHOUSE reported they won the case. a month after, the group released an sudden special video on youtube, featuring YOHAN, DASHI, KOI – and what seems to be the new member – titled 13TH MONTH, released on the 13th month since the group’s hiatus began. the music video attracted lots of attention because of the anonymous member that the company didn’t officially introduce, which earned him the nickname MEMBER X. GLASSHOUSE released an article later that month, announcing that the group was officially out of the hiatus with the release of an ep, PUZZLE PIECE, featuring the 13TH MONTH and two other songs; KILLIN’ ME and LIGHT ME UP, which were sung in chinese and japanese.
PRDX’s comeback soon after was with a mini album WAKE UP WORLD that many fans considered different from their usual cyberpunk sound. despite reaching a global audience, the group received only three wins with THE GUERRILLAZ & BUMP IT UP throughout their 6-week promotions due to fans disliking the group’s new sound. it was also when MEMBER X finally revealed himself as DAMIAN KANG, also going by his stage name : MIKEY, and announced his position as the main dancer, lead rapper and face of the group. after much prodding and stalking, fans uncovered the truth that DAMIAN is the younger brother of STUPID CUPID’s TOMIE, a girl group under GLASSHOUSE’s subsidiary. this created a divide in the group’s fandom where half felt like he was receiving favouritism from the company, while the other half wanted him to stay a member because of his talents. since coming back from a hiatus, PRDX developed a habit of releasing two-sided albums. first side, named as SIDE A, would include more edm and noise title tracks, while the second side, SIDE B, would focus more on the refreshing sounds, accompanied with y2k vibes. these days, fans have gotten used to PRDX having noise music incorporated into their sci-fi / retro concept, and as of 2022, PARADOX INVASION managed to somehow combine their old, cyberpunk, sound with a new concept approach, further confusing the fans yet intriguing them enough to give them a chance to show their best.
it feels like a deja vu, the way GLASSHOUSE sent a notification for yet another yearly live show on youtube for december 31st, 2023. it didn’t take long before the timer ran out, and once again, the fans saw the familiar stage with dancers waiting in their positions. patiently waiting for the selected artists to appear, everyone prayed it would be their favourite to walk down the stage. however, instead of walking out, they sprung out from the ground with blinding lights pointed right at them. but before the artists could be shown, a small screen behind them started glitching, showcasing the said idols with masks practising in a big studio, doing somersaults and jumping over each other with success. once the video ended, another one started, showing the CRYSTYLE members talking with the masked idols and giving their pointers while an instrumental version of THAT GIRL'S INTERLUDE played in the back.
once the video ended and the main camera unblurred, fans went wild in the comments, noticing the talented JUNKO and DEE from RAEVIL, accompanied by PARADOX INVASION’s LIGHT and ADRIEN, all standing in one line. on the third beat, the lights brightened and followed the four idols as they walked towards the small stage closer to the primary camera.
⸻⸻ ﹕ SNS ⠀ › ⠀ PERFORMANCE.
keeping up with what some would say is a tradition, the quartet performed CRYSTYLE’s SHUT IT DOWN before they switched to a mashup of songs most likely produced for them. they performed five songs, excluding the intro, and one was made explicitly for LIGHT and ADRIEN to showcase their self-written lyrics. at the last beat of the performance, confetti were released, and as they slowly fell to the ground, the quartet bowed together and stopped to take a couple of breaths.
“ hello, everyone; this is SNS coming to you live from GLASS LABS! ” DEE enthusiastically yells out, followed by various hellos from other idols. LIGHT takes the reins from there, “ as everyone might know by now, we are the newest and hottest project group made by GLASSHOUSE, and we couldn’t be more glad to be standing here! ”
they wait for a few seconds as if knowing the live comments are being spammed with mixed reactions. while the quartet continues with their speech, a small timer shows up in the upper right corner of the video, cutting the idols off as it counts down from ten seconds. the four idols celebrate once it shows all zeros on the screen, wishing everyone a happy new year before the screen fades. right before everyone was about to turn the live-off, CRYSTYLE members showed up on the screen again, wishing everyone happy holidays and announcing a particular dance contest for everyone who wants to be involved. the point of the contest was for GLASSHOUSE to show the talents of the fans and possibly even to be cast by the company if it came down to it.
“ once again, this is GLASSHOUSE, and we wish you a happy new year ”, the screen shows, and the video ends with that sweet message.
