Nobody Is Useless
I had a little illness when I was a kid and that made it difficult for me to read in school, people called it Dyslexia. This hindered me from excelling in my studies, I struggled twice as much as my classmates, just to get a C. In 9th grade, the big bullies began to notice me. I was laughed at and insulted every day, because of my inability to read or concentrate when studying. My class teachers frequently called my parents to advise them on the best way to help me. Some told them I should attend the school for children with special needs, others advised I should drop out of school or get an after-school tutor. I dreaded going to school each day, I would cry every morning and give my mother a thousand reasons why I didn't want to go to school. But she would sit down by my side and encourage me. My love for my mother kept me going, even though I was tired of the insults, the bullies and emotional turmoil as a teenager. In junior high, my school was chosen for a girl's race competition in which we were adamant to win because the school needed to raise funds to solve some problems. I loved sports but I never gave much thought to them. I began to practice like my life depended on it because I wanted to prove to my teachers that I wasn't useless as they thought. The first level of the race came and I had the highest score, I got my school qualified for the state level. The other girls were dropped at this point because they all failed wolfly. I became the only girl to represent my school. The competition for the state level came and I qualified with the highest score for the national level. It was incredible, I saw all my bullies, the teachers that looked down on me, they chanted my name, they hailed me, they made a song for me. The day came for the national-level final competition for high school female racers. A speech was given by a representative of the President. Then the race began with three rounds. I had the highest score in the first round. I dropped my speed a little in the second round but I won the final round and got the gold medal for my school. Everyone shouted in pure jubilee for the girl who could not read, who was bullied for her illness. I looked at the crowd with joy in my eyes as I panted aggressively, trying to catch my breathe. Some reporters gathered around me to ask me some questions but I smiled and waved to them to give me space to breathe. My mother ran from the crowd to give me a tight hug. I did it, I won. I was also given a scholarship to the University level provided I continue racing. This was how my life changed NOBODY IN LIFE IS USELESS!! ♦♦♦♦♦♦ Hello, I'm Precious I'm a story writer Follow me, if you love reading novels
