Journey on the Longest Road

I painted this over two months during a mentorship with the illustrious Paul Canavan (@abigbat.bsky.social) Never have I learned and fought more during a single piece of art. Also couldn't be prouder of it. A big big thank you to you, Paul!

The goal of the mentorship was basically to create an MTG worthy illustration and...I think I achieved that? I was focused on achieving tactile detail while avoiding shortcuts like texture brushes or photo bashing. In fact the whole thing is painted using only one brush about 99% of time...

Also I get to draw creatures so rarely I just had to go really big and wild with the design!
