There were times that thinking back really bothered him. And now was one of those times. Lately he had been wondering if he was really going to be able to keep his promise to Jessie. After numerous failures there was no sign of things getting better. Even more than getting rich he...He wanted to see his friends happy. But he felt all he did was hinder them as of late.  Growing up with the parents he had James always felt more like a tool than a person. Even now he was still stuck in that mind set. This particular tool wasn’t doing his job. Perhaps they would be better off without him...Better off with someone more capable. His usually cheery features were set into a frown as he sat by the waters edge, conflicted emerald hues staring down int the clear waters. “What should I do, Growlie...? I feel so lost.” Funny, at times like this he really wished he had his old friend here with him. But Growlithe wasn’t suited for this life. Really, when it came down to it who was?

“This has everything to do with our job you cretin,” spilled from her lips as she finished working on the braided crown. The French braid sturdy but looking a little loose for the faux-messy appeal that was all the rage for the humble princess character.

What had indeed started as a way for her to figure out if the style would be doable for her (unfortunately, she had much longer hair of course. So it wasn’t an exact science) had turned into her wanting to see how princess she could make her long-time friend. 

Bobby pins went in and she reached for the small flowers that would decorate. Fairy princess? The benefit of having a best friend who could be both handsome and beautiful and who really didn’t mind either was the endless possibilities. She never really had a doll growing up. But now she had a life-size version! 

“I’m going to do your make-up now. Fairy or hidden kingdom?” His option to choose his type of princess. Okay. Now it had absolutely nothing to do with their jobs. 

Well, maybe she’d want to send him out to the horny twerp at some point. That’d be funny.

Hmmm...which one did he want? Both would turn out beautiful and Jessie had always been great with makeup. He on the other hand was quite horrible at that. “How about fairy?” That might just be fun, a glimmer of amusement apparent in emerald green orbs. His gaze flickered to Meowth though he took utmost care not to move so he didn’t mess up her work in progress. “As if you wouldn’t spend this much time on these things if you could, Meowth.” James pointed out, making the feline roll his eyes. “Or maybe you twos just like playin dress up on the boss’s budget and cross-dressin.” Meowth sure seemed to be quite the negative Nancy today.

“So how do the bows look?” It wasn’t like this was the first time James had worn something girly in his hair or in general. All the costume changes were intense in comparison to Jessie just putting two bows in his hair.“I’m sure whatever hairstyle you are working on will be stunning.” Perhaps this was practice for a contest or for their next job. Either way James didn’t mind as long as it made Jessie happy.“I don’t see what any of this has to do with our job. I think you twos are slackin.” Meowth chimed in as he watched.
