Preschoolers have selected images from our collection (precut by adults) and are using them in a wild collage story telling experience. Beautiful.

Our art studio is exploding with images and color as preschoolers explore collage. We’re using precut images from our image collection box (great thing to ask parents to help with...bring in images that you and you child find interesting from magazines, postcards, greeting cards, etc.). We began this exploration as a way to introduce collage more intentionally, improve our gluing skills, and play with graphic design ideas, but children have transformed it into a fabulous story telling project too.

Images from the Trophy Study, conducted by a 3s and 4s preschool classroom in a Chicago Public School. Students sketched trophies in the school’s award case, then designed their own trophies for accomplishments they deemed important. Trophies were constructed in red clay with wire and loose parts.
