"I should have taken a painkiller first. As delightful as that assignment was, the screaming gave me a migraine."

He's going to have a smoke while he waits for the coffee to brew. The prescript hadn't stipulated to kill them, so he only took a hand. Sure, he ground it up while still attached, but they should be happy to be alive.

"Coffee's too good here to risk it going under new management, you know?"

It'd probably just be him having so much fun that he accidentally shatters his perception of the prescripts and regains a desire for free will.

And by 'fun', probably a violent rampage. The internal short circuiting between overwhelming desires and being chained by his own beliefs would break him.

His brow furrows at the piece of paper. The Index marking seems legit, and even if a fake prescript existed, the very act of it making its way to him made it legitimate.

He slinks up behind her and grabs hold of the bloodfiend's hand, spinning her around as he bends down to plant a kiss on the back of her hand.

prescript: for the day, one must only abide by their natural body

"Well... at least I'm not one of those poor sods with a whole body replacement."

Now, 'abide by' was some pretty loose wording... there were many ways to interpret it, but for the sake of removing all ambiguity he plops onto his couch and removes the locks and safeties on his prosthetic legs, setting them aside nearby.

"Time to marathon a few movies or something."

Not that his faith in the prescripts was ever at risk, it was nice to find meaning in them.

Spent 30m sketching this fool in both his normal backstreet life (before losing his leg & getting both replaced) and as an Index proselyte. Like to think he actually tied his hair up while having to wear the blindfold, looking all proper and even more well spoken.

As a Proxy he's more open with his positive emotions, but negativity is reserved only for those who don't follow or respect the prescripts. He's so thoroughly entrenched in their fatalistic beliefs, all because he received the prescript to join the Index at such a low part of his life he truly believes they saved him. He's a very good dog, I guess.

Also he got a cool shiny sword so that's also tops, even if he prefers kicking people.
