It’s happened again. I’m reading a great fan fiction on Archive of Our Own and either the story or the user just disappear. The first one the author pulled the story to rework it, because people were complaining about how the one main character was this or that way and was totally unacceptable. Now this one, a user had the go ahead from the original author who had uploaded the story to another platform to repost it. The user that reposted it went by the name Anonymous and had posted 40 of the 52 chapters, I was a little bit behind on reading it, and was at like chapter 31. The story was really heating up with the characters relationship and with what was also going on in the story. I was hooked and trying to read as fast as I could, because they were posting the newer chapters every few days or so, and I was doing my best to try to catch up. But this morning I go and try to maybe finish the chapter I was on and then do some chores, then reward myself with another chapter or two, but when I open the browser on my phone, the story and user are both gone. I’m sad now, because this was/is an amazing story and deserves to be out there for people to read just like a few others that I’ve read in the past, that authors have taken down from one platform, but have thankfully kept on another one. This story is just plain gone from everywhere and I’m sad that I wasn’t caught up, and that I can’t seem to find it anywhere online.

congratulations on finishing Shackled Dissimulation!!! Thank you for writing such an amazing fic! The ending really caught me off guard and I had to reread the entire story looking for hints here and there XD

The fic really was a ride! I really had a fun time reading it! I barely post any review or anything, and I was only around this fandom ever since a year ago so I barely there to support this fic too; but I hope you like this little peace of fanwork I did just now!

Okay so there’s a lot of discourse about liking instead of rebloging to the point where there are talks of a content creator strike. There are quite a few people that don’t understand why and seeing it as people overeacting and the only way I can think of to put it is this;

Liking instead of rebloging is basically you telling the creator that you like what they spent hours on making for free but not enough to have it on your blog for others to see.

If you do not want your followers to see that you have an interest in a certain fandom. Or say that it does not go with what your blog is about, then create a side blog for that one interest.

In regards to fanfic since a lot of authors have not been updating as much; leave reviews. Even things as simple as “This was so good.” go a long way with writers. We live off of reviews. It shows us that we’re writing for someone out there that is enjoying what we spent hours making. And when I say that whatever you ramble about in said review does not bother or annoy us I mean that. As long as it’s not hate you literally are not bothering us. Ramble, go way off topic into a full on rant about how you love what we did with a certain plot and how cannon should have did what we wrote. Go off about your disdain toward the show runner cause we’re obviously on the same page since we’re writing it.

Insidious

So as you can tell @aevvium​ and I have received a ton of inquiries on our story Insidious being removed from AO3 recently.  This was intentionally deleted.  Here are a few reasons: 

1. We were not totally content with the story in its current state. 

 2. We felt we were spending a ton of time worrying about having to warn readers about all of the potentially upsetting moments, which really took a lot of fun away from the creative process and impacted our vision for the story.

3. We received an overwhelming amount of response/feedback/criticism on Sanji and significantly less on Zoro.  Being that we are two writers who are separately juggling different main characters, this made it difficult to find anything constructive for the story as a whole.  And, quite frankly, unmotivating.  It takes two to tango, so they say.

4. We’ve decided this story is to remain by us for the time being.  It is probably not best suited for chapter-by-chapter updating and we want to enjoy writing it.  Whether or not it will be uploaded upon completion depends on the finished product.
