If you feel kind of Dumb these days like I do, may I recommend reading a book. Like a physical one, in real life with pages, amongst the audiobooks and podcasts and youtube essays. Feels good feels fun, read a book made of paper today, 9 out of 10 doctors recommend it probably

I wish there were more books dealing with the problem of having a set of morals you believe in that you're trying very hard to follow and just seeing everyone else around you who you care about and trust just completely abandoning that, jumping right off the path. I think that's actually a pretty common problem you don't see addressed a lot

Man I’m trying really hard to get into the witcher books but theres just smth about the writing that isn’t jiving with me. Idk what it is or how to describe it. Something just feels off.
Like it’s not necessarily a character issue bc I love Geralt honestly but more of like
A writing style issue.
I’m just not sure what it is.

✨Hello and Welcome!✨
I’m Sheri! And this is a little blog I made to talk about books and whatever I’m currently reading to try and get away from instagram’s overstimulating algorithms a little bit. Also may experiment with poetry every once and a while idk. Reading is definitely a more casual/secondary hobby for me but whenever I can really sit and get into a book, I do tend to enjoy it. :> So yeah, we’ll see if this blog ends up helping me or not lol.
💖 Some things about Me 💖
I am an adult! 25+. Will not be disclosing my exact age but ye. I pay taxes.
I am a devout Christian (non-denom) and this often plays a role into what I am and am not willing to read.
My favorite genre’s include Fantasy, Sci-Fi, YA, Romance, Thrillers, Historical Fiction, and Christian Fiction. But I also dabble in things like Gothic/Spooky fiction (though not necessarily horror?), Supernatural/Paranormal fiction, Dystopia, nonfiction/self-help, classics, and poetry sometimes. :>
Comics/Manga/Graphic Novels count as reading and I will die on this hill.
Audiobooks count too! I love them especially for my nonfiction reads. Good to listen to while I’m working or doing chores lol.
I am on the Autism Spectrum! Otherwise known as Aspergers Syndrome, which tbh I still prefer over the new name but it is what it is lol. If I ever talk somewhat strangely or in repetitive terms, this is why!
I am a Writer/Artist myself! However I will not be openly sharing my art platforms here because this isn't the place for it.
I am a low-spice reader who usually tries to skip explicit content. It’s just not smth I feel is good/safe for me to read at this point in my life.
I am very character-driven. I can still enjoy a weak plot as long as I enjoy the characters.
My favorite books include The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle, The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis, Caraval by Stephanie Garber, P much anything by Marissa Meyer tbh, Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers, Monster/The Oath by Frank Peretti, 1984 by George Orwell, and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.
Fav Authors include C.S. Lewis, JRR Tolkien, Stephanie Garber, Marissa Meyer, Francine Rivers, Frank Peretti, George Orwell, and Suzanne Collins. This list (and the list above) will likely change and fluctuate over time, though.

You can find me on instagram under the same name w the same icon! Though I don’t post super frequently there if I’m not reading anything. (Which again, kills my relationship with the algorithm and I’m just kinda tired of fighting it and feeling pressured to keep up.)
I hope you have a good day, and God bless!
