To those curious - this is how they look under my skirt (in this one I made the waistband elastic and the slits larger than needed but it would work just as well with smaller ones that are more discrete) closed up slit / pulled open to show the pocket.

Not doll but i made pockets for myself! Now I never need to make pockets again when I make skirts! I can just wear these underneath!

[SC] SSO Roached Mane Edit
Haha, so, turns out I am dying from IRL even more than I thought I'd be, but that's okay, it'll be over soon and I'll have more free time to finish our next set. I hope.
In the meantime as I struggle over balancing work and fun, Schrodcat threw together a few edits of the SSO Roached Mane in my upcoming first batch of SSO hair conversions and has posted it for download on his patreon (for free, ofc) as a sort of "teaser" to the upcoming set. S has been testing all of the manes as I pump them out so this set of tweaks was born from that!
If you're interested in a sampling of the SSO manes we have upconing, check it out and download here;
Download [SchrodCat's Patreon]
Credits & full TOU are on Schrod's patreon, but just to re-iterate quickly; make sure to credit both of us + SSO (where the mesh originally came from) if you make any derivative CC from this, don't paywall, etc.

That's a great way to honor the memories and experiences you had with the doll! I have the eternal problem of "no work only content" where I want to see how things turn out but don't necessarily have a complete vision on how to get there :,D But hey, good things to mull over. It's not like there's really any hurry with this hobby. Maybe I'll have a stroke of genius one day and it'll all slot into place in one way or an another hah
I think it's interesting how as I age my characters do also. I'm a lot older now then I was when I first made up some of them - Aino was initially supposed to be 17! Now I'm 30 and finding myself wanting some elders for my group. But also, at this point, some of them would need to go before getting any new ones. I simply don't have the space, even if I had the energy. Maybe one day.

#bjd#legitbjd#i want the characters to grow old and have a “good ending” because damn that's needed in this world#but also that means i'd need to actually like... figure out what happens and how#nah

I’ve had this IoS K for years and didn’t feel like it was a good fit for Alpin but… seeing as I couldn’t even think of the faceup for the Elfdoll head, this’ll probably stick on for a while.
#I haven’t done anything with the dolls for a long time so handling them at all is a bonus tbh#just have been having a rough time irl#bjd#legitbjd#elfdoll#immortality of soul#alpin

I knew it from the start but took me a while to really be ok with this hobby being a slow burn. I used to get so anxious about unfinished projects, but now I know that it’s better for my enjoyment to take things slow and do them “right” than just slap something on and call it done.
I also used to be much more online active and take proper photos and everything. Maybe I will again one day. I’m probably working myself up to there some day. But not yet.

This came out so beautifully!
Sewing Victorian Doll Clothes
A long time ago, when I just started doll sewing, I bought a book. It had photographs and minute descriptions of antique doll collections, as well as a number of patterns with detailed sewing instructions.

It was quite beyond my skill, and the clothes didn't appeal to me (I was in my Sara Kay / Regency phase), so I shelved it away.
But now, I've become an avid follower of costube content. I've learned to appreciate the Victorian silhouette. I bought some beautiful wool fabric recently. And I was looking for a project.
The book's time to shine had come!

I still love hand sewing. Much of my knowledge comes from Bernadette Banner. Like: If you find yourself working with wool, take the time to thread-mark! It really pays off.
But the my main inspiration for this outfit was the_sewlo_artist. I just love her hobbit outfits.
So have a little homage to a creator I admire: Ingwer history bounding in a walking skirt and a cycling sweater.

Resin doesn’t go bad, so there’s no hurry. If you’re worried about yellowing you can always pack them into storage for a while!
I recently had/am still having an “online break” from dolls for a few years and it’s been great. Just having them around and occasionally changing up the poses or clothes is valid. It’s always okay to take a timeout from hobbies if they don’t bring you joy.
I don’t want to sell my dolls. But I lost my interest in the hobby. I feel really bad rn about all thats happening in my life, but I cant say its because of this since some months ago everything was going as smoothly as possible and I already didnt feel like spending my times with the hobby. I worry my dolls may deteriorate if I keep them alone for years, so maybe it is better to sell… but i am afraid i will want it all again
