The Aventine Keyhole is a keyhole at the Villa del Priorato di Malta, in Rome, which was granted extraterritorial status by Italy in 1869. When you peek through the keyhole, you actually have 3 countries in your line of sight: Malta, Italy and the Vatican City

A fragile image of a woman showing hear breast. Her face is scratched out what makes it very touching. She’s wearing stockings and lowers her dress to show her nude body. Probably an artist’s study.

The image reminds us of the “Storyville” series made by E. J. Bellocq where defaced prostitutes posed for the photographer in a similar setting.
