Throughout our entire adolescence women will be adultified. Told that we are ‘more mature’ than our male peers. More responsible, more reliable. We’ll be given tasks and responsibilities that are not expected of our brothers and barely expected of our fathers. The oldest daughter will start to clean and cook and take on child care duties for siblings. We listen to mother’s emotional outbursts of pain because ‘we just get it.’

And when a sixteen year old starts dating a man who’s been out of high-school as long or longer than she’s been there, this rhetoric can be used as justification. “Well she’s actually more mature than he is” her mother titters with a laugh. “He’s the only boy on her level” her father says sagely.

And I ask; how is the sixteen year old girl ‘more mature’ than the adult man who has years worth of life experience, the right to vote, drive a car and purchase liquor? What experiences, privileges, rights or understandings does the high schooler have on this man?

The answer is nothing she is simply more mature by virtue of being female. And isn’t that just so convenient for predatory men.

Why do girls mature faster than boys?

I recently discovered a few things about the pjo cast; about Rick Riordon and Dior Goodjohn. If you did not know, they're zionists. Rick Riordon was quite clear on his blog, and Dior Goodjohn has posted pro isnotreal things on her twitter before deleting them after getting backlash. Supposedly she apologized for it, but I've seen nothing of the sort. I found plenty of screenshots of her supporting isnotreal, but none of her apologizing. She's still posting about isrealnot, claiming a neutral stance which is just as harmful.

I've had time to wrap my head around all of it - Ik some of you may see that as "dramatic" but as mentioned, a few times, briefly before on my blog, I'm Palestinian. All this stuff is bound to be more personal and emotional for me.

Me and my family were already planning on canceling our disney+ subscription when the term ends (so soon I think), and I will not be watching pjo. At first I thought "I'll just pirate pjo, I have my ways." But now, I'd probably get too sick to watch it. The same sick feeling I got last night when I discovered Dior Goodjohn was a zionist.

Listen, I get not being able to let go, but at the end of the day, where are your priorities? Dior Goodjohn fucked up, big time. And I'll be honest with you, I don't think an apology is coming anytime soon; It'd be nice if I can eat my own words one day, but if/until then, I'm done supporting her and the show.

No more free advertising from me, which means no more Clarisse fics. Thank you all for the support I've gotten, you've been great readers. Of course I'll still be writing for my other characters, but Clarisse is definitely being put on hold as of right now.

see the thing is. the THING is is that in the Greek Myths, Arês was one of the most devoted to his family and his children. Arês, the God of War and Spirit of Battle, sought out the justice and punishment for the rape of his MORTAL daughter, Alcippe, who was raped by Halirrhothius, the son of Posideon. He killed Halirrhothius and was brought to trial for the murder and then Acquitted for it

and then Rick Riordan, who is responsible for a lot of young people who get into mythology, says alllll the gods are neglectful. like. sure. yes. I get it. adaptations and all that. but there are still people who worship these divinities. There are people who study then academically and the cultural context surrounding those myths

Percy Jackson and the Olympians! It’s a 5 book series by Rick Riordan and the first two episodes of the TV show adaptation came out today! They’re going to come out one episode at a time until the end of January. You can watch it on Disney+, but since we’re boycotting Disney because they support Israel, it’s also available on Hulu (which as far as I know is not a Zionist site)

It’s about a 12 year old kid named Percy Jackson who has ADHD and dyslexia. He learns his dad is a Greek God and is sent on a quest to save the world with two other kids, Grover and Annabeth. It’s really good and the TV show is amazing!
