This community saved me. During the darkest, most dangerous time in my life I found a place I belonged. An open and honest place where I was safe to express myself and find others doing the same, others just like myself who I admired and trusted. They told me the true meaning of this dark, violent, and attention-grabbing aesthetic that resonated deeply with me was that it's actually okay to be mentally ill and it's nothing to hide or be ashamed of. That the true meaning of menhera is taking care of yourself and others by focusing on treatment and recovery. It is okay to get better. Everyone deserves to. Everyone. Including you reading this. Including me.

And I have. I've moved on from this era of my life, I feel I'm in recovery even though I do still struggle daily.

I want to tell you all thank you. I still think of you. I want the best for you.
